KillaGTiR
Everton today made James McFadden a take it or leave it offer to finally bring his long-running contract saga to a conclusion. Having enjoyed his most consistent season since joining from Motherwell in 2003, the Scotland international first held talks with the Blues about signing a new deal in February. Talks reached an impasse, though, and it emerged shortly after the end of the campaign that Everton had no immediate plans when McFadden turned down the club's opening gambit. There has since been a change of heart and Keith Wyness has met McFadden's representatives with considerably improved terms. Should he put pen to paper, McFadden will stay at Goodison Park until July 2009, but it is understood that if the 23-year-old rejects this offer, Everton will not return to him for a third time. http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0400eve...-name_page.html

GoldfishMemory
Can just see it now Nugent will get sold in January to one of the struggling clubs in the prem and make them a mint when they go down at the end of the season just like Ashton. Bill
with the rumour that VDM might be leaving, would be able to make use of mcFad on the left.
Romey 1878
That would be stupid move imo, Faddy is not best suited on the left wing, true he hasnt been that great upfront but that is his proper position

Cloud
Take it or Leave, sounds good? if he takes it, good on him! if he doesn't then oh well! Doesn't bother me if he goes TBH< but i supose i would like him to stay
Guest fozzie22
sack him, very average player who got a few games in because there was no one else.. wont be missed
Bluetrip
The only reason I think Moyes didnt fuck him off after the first refusal is our lack of options up front. Anichebe and Vaughan are prospects but we cant rely on them if AJ or Beattie get injured. If we could get someone in on loan for a season and sell Mcfadden I'd take it. Fatboyquim
Not bothered if he goes - we have the two young lads in reserve, Vaughn is back - or will be back from injury.
StevO
i hope he takes the deal, the lad does have talent, just very poor decision making. and we need the numbers. but as said, if he goes i sadly dont think he'll be missed

java2001e
altho mac has had an improved season it still wasnt a very good one. i dont think that he has proved himself to be a premiership player. it may be time for him to move on and try his luck elsewhere. Bafana Blue
I can not understand why the majority of you would like him to stay. We need to improve the quality of our squad yet we seem to often renew contracts of players who are well below premiership standards. Last season we renewed the contracts of Kilbane and Naysmith and now we are trying to keep McFadden and Weir - for a club talking about pushing for a Top 6 finish that does not make any sence. He is one of those players that offers NO END PRODUCT and never will!!!
KillaGTiR
i dont think we will miss him and the money we get for and his wage we could put to better use like yobo and trying to make him stay

adamsmith69
i rekon we should keep him, i like him and thought he did well when he partnered beattie up front. keep him here for competition if nothing else
Bluepips
I want him 2 accept it because he showed glimpses tht he has class lst season, but if he is being a twat then screw him and piss off back 2 motherewell

Bill
He wants to f#ck off ........................ Hope moysey doesnt try to talk him out of it. We can then get somebody in who's fit, and will play on a regular basis. If we dont we could always use Arteta on the left, Davis/Osman on the right, and Neville & Cahill in the middle, No probs. Romey 1878
I think DM will persevere with Kilbane until January, and if hes been shit (which he will be) then he'll look to bring a left winger
Raccyboy
cannot believe that EFC are negotiating with a player of mcfadden's "quality" --- is that how low we've sunk??? let him f*ck off and I guarantee no other prem side will offer him anything........big-headed toss
CraccerC
i think he's shite and simply not good enough for the premiership .... he should consider himself luckyto get offered a new good deal and if he doesn't accept then i hope he flops and ends up in a worse position than jeffers..... he has no talent, and he isnt good enough, id be glad to see the back of him if this is how he's going to act when he's not done much at all for us and we've stuck by him and waited and waited hoping to see something that wasn't there.... we have given him his chance. be grateful or fuck off
Face-man
whilst he clearly isn't 'top' prem quality, he can still do a job on his day sadly his day isn't often enough but i'd rather we keep him, he's settled into the way we play and also is the only option we have after BT & AJ Vaughan & Anichebe are at most bit part players next year, give them a go but Faddy will be needed to, and will offer, more Only my opinion though guys! sconnerefc
if macca goes i can see Everton signing jugears on a free transfer as back up for the future england strickers and replacement for james mcfaggit-young. In the past there has been Royle Ball Kendall Harvey to mention just a few "kids" .......................................... Dont think much to that argument. ALAN BALL.. was an England international, and a World Cup winner just months before we signed him HOWARD KENDALL ..was signed from Preston, after he had played in a Cup Final 6 month previous, if memory serves me correctly i think he was the youngest player to play at Wembley. (at that time). Agree with Harvey and Royle but thats going back 40 years.
