Fatboyquim
Everton and Birmingham want Namouchi - agent 28/06/2006 - 09:02:31 Rangers midfielder Hamed Namouchi is wanted by both Everton and Birmingham, according to his agent. The 22-year-old is now on holiday after representing Tunisia at the World Cup, where he is reported to have been watched by the Goodison Park club. And his representative, Teni Yerima, also claims Coca-Cola Championship side Birmingham have been tracking the player for the last two years. He told the Scottish Daily Express: “There are a couple of English clubs who are very interested in Hamed. “Everton like him a lot and they had him watched at the World Cup, while Birmingham City are also very keen on the player. “Birmingham have been tracking Hamed for almost two years now and, if Rangers were willing to sell, then they would definitely be interested. “It is all down to Rangers and whether or not they would be prepared to sell him.” Namouchi has yet to truly win over the Ibrox faithful, despite establishing himself as a big part of Alex McLeish’s plans at Rangers following his arrival from Cannes three years ago. What part he has to play in the team under new manager Paul Le Guen next season remains to be seen. Buthis agent was keen to stress Namouchi was not seeking a move away from Glasgow despite the interest from south of the border. He added: “Hamed knows Rangers are a big club and have appointed a very good coach and is certainly not in a hurry to leave the club.”

adamsmith69
Hamed Namouchi (born 14 February 1984) is a professional footballer currently playing for Rangers F.C.. He is also a Tunisian international, despite being born in France. Namouchi was signed by Rangers in September, 2003 on a free transfer from French team AS Cannes. He made his Rangers début in January, 2004 against Hibernian F.C. as a substitute. He currently features as a squad player for the Gers, playing 16 competitive games this season, 6 of these in the SPL. He was a key part of Tunisia's qualification for the 2006 World Cup and is expected to play an important role for them. He won his 14th cap against Belarus in May 2006, scoring his first International goal in the same game. hope this helps

Fatboyquim
Midfield chances looks slim Fri, Jun 30 2006 14:58 The chances of landing Rangers' Hamed Namouchi look slim as they have indicated they would expect to receive a fee for the player. Everton were linked with a move for the player earlier this week, but David Moyes has made it clear that the club have more or less spent up and are looking to add to the squad through loans and free transfers. Reports north of the border suggest that there is no way Rangers are willing to allow the Tunisian international leave without getting a sizable fee for the player. Namouchi has been at Rangers for the past three years but could not be described as a fans' favourite, which does not necessarily mean he is on his way out of the club. His agent Teni Yerima said: "There are a couple of English clubs who are very interested in Hamed, Everton like him a lot and they had him watched at the World Cup, while Birmingham City are also very keen on the player." Meanwhile Moyes has confirmed he is weighing up the club's options, he said: "We are weighing up two or three different options at the moment. I'd still like to get another one or two players before the start of the season, but it might be later on, nearer the end of the deadline. "The club have done great with the money, but we've spent the money we've got but I'll still be looking around for a couple of players to add to the squad."
