plaidharper
All smiles reading the news this morning. Usmanov coming here would be great news. More financial backing during a period where we are trying to build a new stadium would be lovely. Even he does not arrive it is still a major blow for Arsenal, a team we should be competing with for places. Might have to check out an episode of Arsneal Fan TV to witness the melt down. Matt
Surely that’s not a deal that can be rushed, and even if it could there’d have to be due diligence before he bought in to us. All a bit suspicious if true.

He hasn't said he is not going to buy Everton.
London Blue
Makes sense after the window closes so we don't get fleeced. Would also explain some of the players and money we are spending. And why we haven't announced stadium funding if Usmanov is going to be investing.
Newty82
Well Kroenke and Usmanov would have been in talks for a good while. It may have only been made official yesterday but between them, they would have been sorting things out for a fair bit. And it does indeed make sense that we have held back on jumping into bed with the council on stadium funding if Moshiri and Co have inside knowledge on what Usmanov is planning next. I doubt Usmanov just wants to walk away from football having been so keen to have a proper go at Arsenal. Hopefully he'll invest in Everton. We can only hope just now. Be brilliant for the club's future if he does come and shares Moshiris vision of the club being self sustainable yet successful overall. Hafnia
Its interesting to see the human behaviours from other fans and journos in this..... "he did not sell his shares so he can buy Everton" has been translated into "he is not going to invest in Everton"... David Conn - a renowned journo has gone with that view..... why? not because he has poor verbal reasoning (as he is intelligent enough to understrand) - more the fact that he is a Liverpool fan who does not want to believe that this will happen. why would this likely happen? and moreso why us? 1. He is a mega powerful man who has been refused his place at the top table in Arsenal - that does not sit well with powerful people... he will want to prove that Kroenke made a huge mistake and how better to do that than to take a rival club to glory. 2. Everton have a huge revenue gap to exploit to enhance the value of the club - namely a new stadium and surrounding area. Buy lower - invest big = massive value vs original value. He will make the cost of the stadium much lower due to his steel being used. 3. Moshiri is here... his mate who he loves to do business with - not against. why would Everton or Usmanov announce an intention to buy the club before the window closes? it would see transfer prices go through the roof... I'm sure some potential players may get told what the project is... but that would be confidential. All good I reckon....
Gwlad
I wonder if Brands was given some confidential information hence keen to come here knowing the bigger picture if Usmanov gets involved.

What made us worse was a huge deterioration in the old guard and not replacing them adequately - aligned with shite disengaged managers that ruined the culture of the side. Fortunately money allows you to take a hit and correct such mistakes. When we didn't have money we had to endure the likes of linderoth, gemmill, pembridge, chadwick, li tie for years.... Its the people behind the scenes that determine how well that money is spent. Spending money isnt a guarentee of success, its spending money in the right areas and on the right people. Guest John Burns
Usmanov has neither categorically confirmed or denied he would be buying onto EFC, despite being involved in the training ground. There is no confirmation that the club will leasing Bramley Moore Dock and no stadium design have been released. If Usmanov gets involved in EFC, expect Bramley Moore to be dropped for a superior site.
Shukes
So it’s all positive then isn’t it. If Usmanov does join us then it could get even better.

Usmanov will think big and 52-55,000 at BMD is Championship aspirations. It has been known for a time now that Kronke wanted to get near full ownership of Arsenal. He must have approached Usmanov prior to the announcement, as Usmanov was too quick to say "yes". This may all be related to the stalling/delaying of the BMD stadium. Do not move until Usmanov is on board.
