There could be a number of reasons I.E. no signal, interference with someone elses tablet or hand device, WI-FI connection disabled, or simply a fault with the product itself. The best advice I'd suggest is take it in to a relevant store than can assist and seek "professional" help, instead of tampering with settings yourself, or maybe find a more reliable way to participate, by means of a PC for example.
