verreauxi Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 I'm on my way to Madagascar for 5 weeks but had a nice stop off in Paris and got to see some good rugby, including England vs. Canada in the final game (my girlfriend is the manager of the US women's national team so she got me a ticket). Lots of fun and a great atmosphere. Women's rugby has come a long way and the stadium was pretty packed, particularly for the France-Ireland game before the England game. I'd post a photo but I can't from my crappy phone. Anyways, we fly to Madagascar tomorrow (she also is a lemur researcher as well). See you all later. Quote
johnh Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Women's rugby is played to a far higher level than Women's football. Women's rugby is played at a fast pace with crunching tackles, while women's football is played at a slow pace with some women unable to kick the ball more than 20 yards. I watched a women's England game last season and the England left back couldn't kick the ball more than 10 yards, even when trying a clearance. Don't understand why this should be so? Quote
