Mac
Sorry to p*ss on the parade boys and girls, this is a training game. I can't get excited about these games, may as well go down to Bellefield and cheer for the first team against the reserves. Sorry to be a Fozzie/Craccer but I can't do this. Zed
Having seen my fair share of pre- season freindllies their all a pile of wank Generally just a good summer day out for the boys, few beers, thats why I loved the tranmere games. As mac says these are purly an excerise in fitness and technique. Its also the managment teams theology (if thats the right word) But a good stonking win wouldnt go a miss with an AJ hat tick

CraccerC
why so negative its only aberdeen for crying out loud the mighty blues will win easily 43259 seriously mate, all this calling me negative and jumping on my back has stopped and how is hoping for a win negative? exactly it isn't the reason why i said i'm hoping for a win and not a 10-0 victory is because i feel that after soem of the recent games (without a win) it would do us good for confidence reasons to get a victory, however we achieve it... so i'm still negative? lol i shouldn't have even dignified you with a response and to mac, theres nothign wrong with that opinion, not being excited, as you said it is a trainign game, it's not THAT important, however as above i feel we could do with a win Edited August 6, 2006 by CraccerC
Neil
craccer i called you negative because to say lets hope for a win is negative ok its only a friendly and yes the result is meaningless as the others have said but no offence to the scottish but the scottish prem league is not the same as ours in my opinion its the eqivalant of the old 1st division or as its now called the championship so to hope for a win against aberdeen is in my eyes negative me personally i expect us to win i dont expect a ten nil win or a brillant all round performance but a win yes
Heather_6
it might lower their confidence if we lose so we need to win as many games as possible
CraccerC
craccer i called you negative because to say lets hope for a win is negative ok its only a friendly and yes the result is meaningless as the others have said but no offence to the scottish but the scottish prem league is not the same as ours in my opinion its the eqivalant of the old 1st division or as its now called the championship so to hope for a win against aberdeen is in my eyes negative me personally i expect us to win i dont expect a ten nil win or a brillant all round performance but a win yes 44022 so what's your point exactly? you say we should expect a win, so that hoping for a win is negative? correct me if im wrong but is it not expectign wins that causes a lot of upsets? underestimatign the opponent? ok its a friendly, but all the more reason not to expect too much just yet, i'm hoping for a win, the same way i hope for a win every time we play, it isn't negative, it's wanting to do well and the best for the club, you can't expect too much from our team, after a relatively poor pre-season so far, we just need to turn in a good performance and get a bit of confidence... all we need is a decent performance and hopefulyl a result, there's no point in putting pressure on and expecting in a pre-season friendly, it's all about getting fitness and soem confidence i agree with HG above me Edited August 8, 2006 by CraccerC

thebluenose
according to people on NSNO. they were BT, cahill and anichebe.
FairWooney
Beattie and 2 from Anichoebe according to this site. http://www.Everton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=26573 if so anichoebe having been our most proliffic scorer over the pre season must be at minmimum on the bench against watford. a great player to have come off the bench. mcfadden according to this report also played very well so at least he's trying to fight for his place. CraccerC
Beattie, Cahill and Anichebe scored. Anichebe set up Cahill's goal. 44173 indeed and mikel set up beattie's... arteta is havign a fantastic pre-season i think, whenever he plays he seems to be very involved, either creatign or scoring
Droobie
What about the ones that they scored... did we give them away; how's the defence looking?
Downtown
Just back from the pub after game. 1st half was poor, McFaddeen missed a sitter then Aberdeen hit he bar with a curler from outside box before scoring the first. Osman hit post before half time with a close range shot from a cross. 2nd half was better though, Arteta and Johnson made a big difference. I'm not sure if Beattie got a touch on Arteta's cross, ball didn't seem to change direction but unless he touched it the goalie should've caught it. Aberdeens 2nd was a shot from outside box before Cahill and Anichebe both scored with shots after crosses into box. Lescott seemed quite composed first half but made a few errors in 2nd that weren't punished. 1st half there wasn't much creativity without Arteta, hope he stays injury free during season....... Adams
nice to see we scored 3 goals in 1 match, did AJ play?
Romey 1878
Yes he did, he came on in the second half with Arteta. Im glad we managed to score a few goals though, it'll give the scorers confidence for the new season. I think the most crucial goal was from Cahill because we need more goals from midfield this season.
CraccerC
yeh, it's good to score, however we've been conceeding a little freely for my liking, next game 2-0 would be perfect and yeh, yesterday supported my theory that our midfiel lacks, alot, without arteta, we don't create anything, as downtown pointed out
