Cornish Steve
Cook admits batting is our weakness but they keep picking Bell. If batting is the problem, how come Pakistan's spinners took many wickets for limited runs while England's spinners took fewer wickets and gave up large numbers of runs? Frankly, England stink all round right now.

Frankly, England stink all round right now. We did much better than I'd expected; Pakistan have never lost a series in the UAE since they relocated there and I expected us to get spanked but we ran them very close. First two tests went to the wire, and we were right in the third one until the final day. Losing all three tosses didn't help! I think there are encouraging signs. MikeO
Ebony Rainford-Brent Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special "England need to be clinical. Being able to close out a game is a skill in itself. It's important not to let the game drift." They need more than 100 from six overs, think we've got it covered Ebony . johnh
Buttler was fortunate on 8 when he went down the wicket to the spinner, missed the ball, was three yards out of his crease and the wicket keeper fumbled it.
Romey 1878
Spanked them again! Not as good as the other night but still a decent showing.

Romey 1878
What an over from Jordan . It was unbelievable! He'd been hit to all parts during the proper game as well.
MikeO
It was unbelievable! He'd been hit to all parts during the proper game as well. I know, he was our worst bowler so it seemed a really strange decision to give it to him; but plainly the powers that be knew something we didn't. Our over got a little nervy also but all worked out in the end.
johnh
When they announced that Jordan would bowl the super over I swore at the TV. Had to grovel a few minutes later, what an over he bowled.
MikeO
When they announced that Jordan would bowl the super over I swore at the TV. Had to grovel a few minutes later, what an over he bowled. Morgan explained it by saying, in the nets, he had the best consistent yorker. Inspired choice! I'd have done the same, honest . MikeO
Ben Stokes. That is all. "England scored 196 in 25 overs in that session. Ben Stokes scored 130 in that, the most ever by a batsman in a pre-lunch session in a Test match." Handy.

johnh
Cook is very average as a captain (can't win a toss for a start) but his poor form with the bat doesn't justify his selection. Getting out today in exactly the same way he got out in the last test is just dumb and inexcusable.
