Makis
Keane could be a brilliant signing. One of the best defenders in PL this season. And he's not *that* young (born -93). Difference between him and the youngsters already at Everton is Keane has played well over 100 league matches.
Louis
Ian Ladyman of the DailyMail reckons Everton are in the lead to sign him. But Sportsmail understands Everton are in pole position as Keane and his advisers consider his next move. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4077434/Everton-favourites-sign-Burnley-defender-Michael-Keane-summer.html

EFC-Paul
Is this not one for the summer? Burnley are fighting for their lives would they really sell now? I wouldn't say they are fighting for their lives, they sit nigh on mid table ten points from the relegation zone and have some absolute dross below them It's how they generally operate to make money revenue is low its a small town etc markjazzbassist
markjazzbassist
Is this not one for the summer? Burnley are fighting for their lives would they really sell now? ten points ahead of relegation, with 4 teams between them. honestly I think they're safe, a win here or there and a couple draws and they're near the 38 point marker for safety (it won't be anywhere near 40 points this year, bottom three are dire). EDIT - paul beat me to it. Edited January 30, 2017 by markjazzbassist

aaron
I'm surprised by this one. I haven't seen much of him but he has looked solid but nothing more in a team set up to defend. He's good, former United defender who left to play football, Chelsea and United have been linked with him in recent weeks, would sit in soundly next to Williams. I think with a decent enough bid we COULD get him today, its doubtful but Burnley aren't in a position to turn down decent offers.
scouse
will be an interesting one this, I think it will be down the player wanting to move or wait if it goes ahead, would come in to the team as above with Williams, would prefer someone higher profile tho and him as the third option. aaron
£28m is a lot for him, however majority of that is the English premium, would make a good jags replacement, however that price puts me off.

A lot of it is down to the inflated TV revenue. It's the same price we paid for Bolasie so I'd say it's a bargain based on that. c1982
I thought he was excellent today. I was really impressed with his forward passing - something I hadn't noticed he had in his game. Obviously he's a big, strong lad who's got the usual attributes you'd expect from an 'old fashioned' centre back but actually I thought he looked very comfortable in possession today. c1982
What do you reckon our chances are of signing him? If City and Chelsea really are after him too it'll be very difficult. Depends if he's settled in the North West with Chelsea link and how much love he has for Man U with the City link. I don't necessarily see him as a first choice target for either to be honest - think Conte will look to Italy and Pep will have 'bigger' targets - possibly van Dijk or back in for Laporte. I know Keane was a high priority for Walsh/Leicester last summer and Koeman has made no secret of our interest so I'd say we've got a decent chance. I fully expect him to get his first cap in the upcoming internationals which will no doubt create more interest/hype. markjazzbassist and Romey 1878
gethinO
I have to say that I've been very, very impressed with him every time I've watched him play this season. He's a proper Centre half in terms of defending and as mentioned in the comments above he's very decent on the ball as well. At 23, his best years are ahead of him so I would be chuffed if we pulled this one off. Burnley are likely to demand at least £30 million though and you can't blame them really. I can see Jags and possibly Mori leaving in the summer so I think Keane + another CB (Van Dijk please) will be coming in to join Holgate and Williams at the back. Aidan
Doubt that there would have had such on obscure clause in the contract. MC11
He's a big lad. Good in the air comfortable on the ball. Got turned far too easy by Lukaku but the lads still learning that's why he's not at United, Chelsea etc. He'd be a good signing. Was very naive for the turn - he should played Rom on his right side even though it meant playing him inside. Ideally he needed to be arm length not touch tight. That's the athletic and size advantage that Rom has though - needs to use it more.
