Side track... Anyone remember seeing koeman at Goodison in 95 in the uefa fixture? I was mesmerised by his right peg, he looked 15 stone and didn't move but pinged 50 yard balls all over the place.

He had thighs bigger than my training partner in the gym and his are huge. Dwarf Robero Carlos by a mile. They were huge.

Mirallas do you watch much Dutch football? You make him sound like a tactical idiot yet suggest a manager that practically nobody has ever heard of hasn't won anything of any worth and has managed in a league that's comparable to the Championship at best

What's nationality is Preud'homme... ah let me guess

He is a tactical idiot compared to most high profile managers.

Second statement: I didn't suggest Preud'Homme, as well as... are you starting to believe Haf's nonsense about me concerning Belgians? The only correlation between me and Belgians is the fact that I know a whole many of them for obvious reasons, so my point of view will concern a whole lot more knowledge on Belgian stuff. It doesn't make me prejudiced or chauvenistic.

I think you guys often get confused about that. If you, as English guys, would root for Club Brugge and came to my home team's forums to get involved in the discussion, obviously your input will be tinted by your English context and knowledge of football players and managers. And I'd understand that too.

You know what the best thing is? I'll put it in bold: On my home team's forums I sometimes get banter for mentioning too many EPL players. That's a shocker right there, isn't it? Yet it's the cold hard truth. I know more about English football than most Belgians do and I know more about Belgian football than most Englishmen do. So I suggest you guys get over it and just leave me to my Mirallas-esque comments without having to mention that chauvinist bullshit because it's simply wrong.

I'd be happy with both they are my first and second choice, Pellegrini if we can't get either but only if we can't. He should be the fallback option.

Fucking hell, imagine having Pellegrini as our 3rd choice. Not saying he is for one minute but that's how far a new investor almost owner has taken the expectations of the club. How anyone can ant Kenwright and Co here with that staring them in the face is a mystery.

Lost me at the end .

They need to sell up and move on and let go Mike, enough is enough now, they done a good job for a long time but they are holding us back. Imagine if they sold out to another Moshiri or he bought the lot. Just 49.9% bought and we're looking at Mourino, Pellegrini , De Boer etc as manager. If Moshiri hadn't bought those shares Martinez would get another season. It's time for a complete change mate, Kewright, suntan bob , Woods and all Martinez coaching staff need to go let Moshiri take the reigns from here until the next chapter.

It was the smelling I didn't understand; the "w" missing off the start of "ant" (which I presume is what you meant) threw me. Bit slow tonight.

I want someone with a track record of turning promising youth players into genuine stars. I'd have loved Klopp or Van Gaal for that reason alone, we seem to have a glut of talent at U21 level and younger, I want someone in who will improve them and get them into the first team. It annoys me to see the likes of Forshaw playing really well for Boro and about to play in the Prem - genuinely good coaches can bring players like that on. Ajax, Barcelona - that's the model Everton should be following.

That doesn't necessarily mean I want De Boer btw, I'm not sure how good his record with youth development is, seems the last crop of Ajax to go in and make a name for themselves started leaving early in his time there.

Just messing around here, but it's come up on another forum, a kind of 'make the best of a bad scenario' situation: if you had to choose from one of these managers, which would you choose:

Big Sam

Moyes

Brendan Rodgers

Duncan Ferguson

Not that I want any of them, but Big Sam is easily the best choice. He is seriously underrated. Usually has both his hands tied behind his back and yet comes up with results. Saving Sunderland was a miracle. He's also much smarter than people give credit for.

Koeman over any other for me. I'd even have him over Jose (however unrealistic) on the basis that Koeman seems to give more youngsters a chance, an area we are strong and should not overlook. I'd fear Jose wouldn't bring through some of the top potential we have on the brink of breaking through.

Pellegrini is a big no from me. Can see him making the same defensive mistakes that we've been making under Martinez.

What can Koeman do for everton which he can't do with Southampton?

To be fair Southampton aren't short of £££.

EFC have a bigger fan base and the North West is a more competitive footballing area... always feel Southampton being 'out the way' can make it less attractive. I don't necessarily think he's a realistic target but there's been talk of him stalling on a new deal for a long time now - we'll see.

Only draw back on him would be if he brought Sammy Lee.

Overall I just want a manager who will motivate our players, get them fit and play pressing and tactically flexible football.

I don't let Haf or anyone sway my opinions I form them myself but I wouldn't say he's far wrong and I'll be honest I can't be arsed replying to all that you've written as it's war and peace but your denouncing a man that's highly regarded by experts as a very good up and coming manager as a tactical numbty yet suggest absolute unknowns who've done nothing in footballing terms

Your knowledge on Belgium and English football or what you post on other forums means very little to me I'm simply not interested it makes no odds to what you post on here

lallana, lambert, lovern, shaw, clyne, schneiderlin, alderwiereld (couldn't sign him). this season they were 52m in transfer sales, 55m players bought. last season 123m out the door, 88m in the door,

that's a sell to buy club with no transfer kitty. not sure why you think they have money. hell his first season he had a 30m profit and he couldn't even spend it!

have money to buy transfers. he has to sell to buy at Soton and they can't keep their stars. we can keep our stars here now and can splash the cash with moshiri.

I think that they are one of the most financially sound and ran clubs in the league Mark I may be wrong but I'm sure they have plenty of money and backing there just Arsenal esq with spending it

He's unhappy with selling top players and already given them the ultimatum on it apparently and only has a year left on his contract, he could easily walk if he was indeed interested

please see above post. if they were financially sound they wouldn't take the vibrac loan every year to buy players. the same loan we took under bill K and others called a corporate payday loan with insane interest rate.

same amount of debt as everton yet their commerical and kit deals are way smaller, staidum is 6k smaller, on and on.

not saying they're badly ran, just that they aren't arsenal with cash reserves and no debt.

Correct they've sold - not disputing that.

I said they're not short of money... FACT. They have very rich owners although I don't know the ins and outs since the billionaire owner died.

Spend money

Spending money and spending money well are two different things. Id rather have someone with a better stature and can attract bigger players than Koeman. I'd rather splash a chunk of that transfer fee we're rumoured to have on someone substantial and make a real statement of intent.
