rubecula
Crisps : Walkers are most common and not too bad. Golden Wonder are tongue picklers. My favourite though are Seabrook's (I love the prawn cocktail flavour) Nuts: Honey dry roasted I am partial to, but any are ok. Just never eat too many or your bowels get a workout..... allegedly Pork scratching: Great taste but my teeth just can't handle these little curly porky rocks from hell Others: Black pudding on a bar in the "Queen's" in town was ok and it was free . Pigs belly (pig tripe) in a bag from St John's market with salt and vinegar is pure heaven Any other ideas? MikeO
Oregano flavour "Lays" (as Walkers are known abroad) are the dog's bollocks, sadly not available over here because Brexit supporters only want roast beef flavour .
MikeO
raw almonds (unsalted) - nutritious and delicious 100%! Neighbours when I was growing up had a tree that overhhung our garden so we had a supply, really tough shells to get through but worth the effort. markjazzbassist
rubecula
The taste of almonds is (for me) irresistible. But one ancient snack I have never tried is roast chestnuts, anyone ever tried them?

markjazzbassist
never tried "chestnuts roasting....on an open fire....jack frost....." but I'd love to. nuts are very healthy and good for you, double whammy. honestly I enjoy crusty French bread and cheese. that's probably my favorite snack of all time. Add some red wine and you got my favorite meal of all time rubecula

MikeO
Bag of chips with salt and vinegar. Plate of my mum's chips yes, no chippie could compare! We used to have them with runner beans from the garden, rest of the family had scrambled eggs with them but I've never liked eggs. Chips, runner beans and HP sauce.....heaven! Can't stand garlic, I would rather risk being attacked by vampires than eat garlic. rubecula and Sibdane

rubecula
Jerky is not bad really is it? We get it in Tesco here, ok for a lunch box. Along with Biltong, a very similar snack.

Not as healthy as the American stuff as the chinese use quite a bit of sugar so it's sweet. http://www.malaysianchinesekitchen.com/bak-kwa-chinese-pork-jerky/ Edited February 23, 2017 by pete0 rubecula
