markjazzbassist
It's home and i think we should all be expecting a win. Nice momentum from the sunderland and bournemouth matches, let's keep it going. Pickford Kenny Keane Jags Baines Davies Gana Schneiderlin Sandro DCL Gylfi I expect well see ROoney where I have Sandro, but i think he needs some time on the bench he hasn't been his best. Sandro adds pace with DCL.
Aidan
Momentum is a strong word in this case. We haven't played a full game well all season and I'm not expecting us to anytime soon Matt
efc1111
Didn't sound like Keane or Jags are likely to be fit, so probably another chance for Holgate to get a game at centre back.

It's not a bad thing. It's going to be his position in the future so the more games he gets the better. He does need them though! Play DCL and Sandro up front and we'll be fine. And I mean a proper two-pronged attack. None of this DCL as the striker and Sandro just behind him. nogs
I'm gobsmacked how many people still want us to play 4-3-3. With Gana and Schneiderlin in midfield. And Sigurdsson one of a front three. How much more evidence do you need to see it doesn't work? pete0 and chicagoblue

When Davies is in there it brings the best out of the other two. markjazzbassist

It's not clear to me that all that many want Gana and Schneiderlin or maybe any combo of 2 DMs. It's more that many of us are grimly resigned to what appears to be the fact that Koeman strongly prefers them and the 2-DM formation. I suspect many of us, recognizing need for extra attacker, prefer 4-1-3-2. Perhaps especially at home against mediocre opponent, when we want to see relentless forward energy. Bill
Got to give Besic more game time at the expense or Morgan or Gana, he gives us more forward movement and a lot quicker. Kenny, Davies, DCL, and Niasse have all earned a start. 4-2-4 Pickford Kenny ..... ....... ? .. .... who's fit ....... ? ............. Baines Davies ..........Besic Vlasic ...... Niasse ............... DCL ............Mirallas Would like to see Sandro on for Mirallas at half time. Matt

Bill
Got to save the big guns for the league games, some of our fringe players deserve to show what they can do in these Europa games, and the cup games.
Guest
I'd love him to play 4-4-2 on thursday I think formations are so overplayed sometimes. Width being our main priority, this should help.. I also believe certain players will perform better feeling settled in a preferred role. Bluemineck
Wasn't meant to be sarcasm but it drives me mad when teams don't take the competition seriously when they spent the whole of last season trying to qualify for it. And it seemed you were suggesting that the Europa league was the least important so what are we aiming for in the league then? barryj
Bill
No I wasn't suggesting anything, I just believe the youngsters can put on a better show, and if they do it on a regular basis it is they who will become the big guns. To answer your question, I think the same as last year is all we can hope for.

Think he has a lot to offer if he can get a good run of games. Not scared to go past a player.... which for some reason the rest of our team are. Wants to shoot, and is very aggressive.
