Name the songs from the opening lines.


1.  I got my first real six string.  Bought it at the 5 and dime.
2.  It's 9 o clock on a Saturday, the regular crowd shuffles in.
3.  Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again.
4.  Sitting in the morning sun, I'll be sitting when the evening comes.
5.  Young teacher, the subject of schoolgirl fantasy.

Should be, "You could hear the hoof beats pound as they raced across the ground".

I'll leave this one for someone else to have first stab at as I've jumped in first on the last two. I've got ten of them at the mo.

Rubes definitely older than me: Palfy also (just). Think patto's similar generation as well but he's not given DOB in his profile. Cornish must be not far off.

Me too. Me too. Looking back, it's surprising that Benny Hill humour was so acceptable.

It must be difficult to imagine for today's generation that we got milk from the traveling milkman and bread from the baker's van (and, in our case, books from the mobile library). There was also the "spastic man" collecting the pools. It really did instill a sense of community, and rumours spread like wildfire!
