Blue Bill's shiny new stadium at the docks...

On the latest club video they make reference to the west stand being the main stand, it’s the first time I think they have done that. As obvious as it may be that it’s the main stand, I believe it’s only ever been labelled the west stand.
Find the video on Matt’s post here…

It is very subtle to be fair, would it have looked better to have used blue engineering slip bricks, being blue for Everton, and a brick from the age of the docks, and would have stood out more like the lattice work at Goodison.

Best give them a chance to finish it, looks a bit messy at the moment, understandably.

Agreed mate, I didn't mean to make it sound like a criticism, after all they could have just left a plain expanse of brickwork and we would have all said nothing. So to get the design harking back to the Old Lady is creative.

Also I would just like to add that if it's to subtle the pattern will possibly get lost, with the ageing and weathering of the brick elevations.

It would have stood out more, but they have used two shades of bricks that are used in current dock buildings. That’s so it doesn’t stand out, was a subtle design to start with. I’d expect it to look a bit more obvious when it’s finished and you’re stood looking up at it from outside.

I'm sure it will mate🙏

Get the subtleness.  Maybe they wanted it to blend in (at one time they were trying to keep the historic designation right?) or maybe cost or maybe an artistic decision.

The thing I do not get about the brickwork is the varying widths and spacing.  Maybe there is a structural reason or maybe it is an artistic decision?  My brain instantly wants to make the spacing and widths equal.  Then again maybe I am boring? haha.

The spacing is to suit the pattern.

The echo reporting on a “new feature”, so new that it was on the final planning application. You can see it on the renderings on page 15 of the plans, as well as on the site layout on page 24.
They started building it weeks ago.
Always on the ball at the Echo. 😂

From financially bankrupt to morally bankrupt. Its only been a matter of time.

It’s just the Stadium naming, we’re you happy with Usminov?

Would you be happier being City, or Newcastle with full ownership by equally moral bankrupt states.

If it wasn't for the sanctions set by governments round the world Usmanov would still be involved with the club, even with the Russians invasion of Ukraine Moshiri wouldn't have severed ties with Usmanov because of his own moral compass, he did so because he was given no other choice. So whether some like it or not we surely can't be surprised that he would take the money of any person or country no matter what atrocities they have been involved in.

No, I wasn't. I was hoping with Putins pal out of the picture we'd go for something slightly more positive, not representing an even worse state of affairs.

I don't know if this has been touched on, but taking into account how the club is being run, my fear is that we are going to end up without a home that belongs to us. Instead, we'll be paying daft sums in rent and be at the mercy of a stadium owner. Seen it happen to multiple clubs over the years. Never ends well on the football side of things.

We were always going to be borrowing the money from somewhere. The more stable the club is the more stable the lender will be.

The atmosphere amongst the fan base is so obviously low that the next section of roof truss has been fitted on the south stand today and hardly anyone has filmed it.

You can see it on KC Imageworks YouTube channel, not the lift, just footage after it’s done.
