Youre both moaning but you two lads seem to need to book a test for yourselves!

Sad to see Joel go, but he deserves to be a starter somewhere.  Good luck to the kids too

The best time to moan about transfer business or lack of it is when the window has shut. I personally think most Evertonians will be feeling very smug this time next week.

The Echo report that we're not actively looking bring a striker in because we have Tosun, Walcott and Simms... then a few hours later report that we're in talks to let Walcott go. They really know fuck all .

I really hope we move walcott on. He’s got very little technical ability or tactical presence. Much rather see bolasie in his role because at least he would bust his ass for the team for 15 minutes.

Would much rather see Bernard than either of them. He’s a terrier and can buy fouls.

I agree Bernard’s ahead in the pecking order. I’m still kind of baffled by walcott coming on in the game before both bernard and Gordon.

To be clear I’d rather see Bolasie as our 4th back up winger - Iwobi, Gordon/Bernard then Bolasie if we are desperate.

I know what you mean - both lower down the pecking order than Bernard or Gordon. So not worth keeping both Walcott and Bolasie. If we can't off load Bolasie, then move Walcott on if possible as not a great deal in the quality between the pair of them.

Ideal world get both off the books.

I also thought it strange Walcott came on rather than Gordon or Bernard.

I wouldn't mind a blag but they can't even do that right. All they have to do is read their last journalist's report from the post match conference to see that Carlo stated we are working on Singings (more than 1)!

I’d rather play with 10 men than have that clown anywhere near the pitch. If I wanted to watch someone run about I’d go and watch athletics.

We play football and he’s a shit footballer.

If he wasn't on the pitch on Saturday one of our other players wouldnt have assumed that he was going to move his legs and at least try and stop bousouma having half an hour to watch the ball bounce, knee it up and volley it.  Probably would have saved a goal. ...

That doesn't mean Bolasie is a viable option though. I'd still have Walcott before him every single time, but Walcott will actually have clubs after him unlike good old Yannick.

Bolassie is gone from what I gather.  Carlo has told him as much ....

Walcott & bolassie out = one coming in... That one person would need to maybe play striker or wing.......

Zaha maybe ..... If does make sense. Whatever you think of him he's better than the other 2.

I've been really impressed with the board this window, it's been like no other. Firstly we were linked to Hojberg, when we realised that wasn't a possibility we quickly moved on to Allan/Doucoure.

And today we sign Godfrey after trying to get in Tomori/Zouma, but won't wait around until last minute for an answer from Chelsea.

We've gone about this window with real intent and not mucked about until last minute. So unlike Everton. I'm not sure if this is Carlo's doing or not but its really nice to see this change.

i'm not sure we wanted hojberg, could have been agent justifying higher fee/wages with spurs using us.

we've spent

0 James

20m Doucoure

25m Godfrey

25m Allan

70m and brought in 3 excellent players and 1 young up and comer.  that is great business.

He's been told he has no place here, quite rightly, but that doesn't mean he's gone. I can see him still being here due to lack of interest.

I hope he goes, I hope Walcott goes, I hope a few more go with them and we sign another winger and a striker. I don't see the winger being Zaha no matter my opinion of him, I think it's too late in the window and Hodgson has said as such.

If he gets bolassie in exchange and maybe Davies or another player on the fringes then.... Who knows. I do love this day. Especially when I'm happy with business already done.

Its actually been that long since I have seen Bolasie play to be honest. Can't remember how effective or ineffective he really was either going forward or supporting back (compared to Walcott).

How about Zaha come in and Bolasie goes back to Palace - sorted :). I can dream!!.

At best, think we might get a bench warming striker and bench warming keeper (to keep us going until next summer) and maybe off load a couple of deadwood players.

You missed him in the preseason game? Some very good moments followed by missing an open goal from a yard out, and being largely anonymous bar passing to their players in our half. It was the perfect summary of him. Very nice guy, some very nice tricks, mostly awful play.

I had forgotten about Tosun. I would class him as a poacher and that is the position DCL has mastered so far this season. He might be an option, albeit I'm not convinced!

It would surprise me if Carlo has focused Brand's mind somewhat!

i did see that, but never take much notice of pre-season games to be honest. glorified training so take any performances, good or bad, with a pinch of salt - Don't get me wrong, I am not championing Bolaise in any shape or form. Prefer him to be moved on.

I meant more that even in the most pressure-free environment against poor opposition he managed to fluff his lines. He absolutely cannot be considered any kind of backup.

The lad from Spurs seemed ok when he played last season. But haven’t seen enough of him to want him.

That last part is spot on. Anything that happens today is just the icing on the cake. We've had a spectacular window. Maybe the best in all of Europe.

All of a sudden we're looking a little thin in the 'creative' positions - assuming Walcott and Bernard go. Not including Sandro or Bolasie.

Pickford Lossl JVirginia

Coleman Kenny

Holgate Keane Mina Godfrey Branthwaite

Digne Nkounkou

Allan Delph Gbamin Besic

Doucoure Gomes Siggy Davies Beni

James Iwobi Gordon

Richarlison DCL Tosun

Good news is this would indicate alot of faith in Gordon. Definitely need cover for DCL/Richarlison though.

i think if you look formation wise this is what we got

                                                         Pickford, Virginia, Lossl

Coleman, Kenny              Keane, Holgate               Mina, Godfrey                Digne, Niels

                                                               Allan, Delph

                            Doucoure, Gylfi                                    Gomes, Davies

James, Iwobi                                      DCL, Tosun                     Richarlison, Gordon

i expect besic, branthwaite, beni, etc to be sold or loaned (branthwaite loan for sure).  currently we are 2 deep, obviously striker tosun being the backup is weak.  also iwobi isn't exactly the creative force james is.  but still we look ok if nothing else happens.  who knows, tosun might turn out to be our Ole coming on 70' each match.  he's turned around plenty of other players!

Personally think a lot of people are getting (justifiably) greedy. This has been an excellent window regardless

I think as Rom said, it would be a shame given the start we have had and the momentum with us, if we didn't try and push this advantage home.

A back up keeper to really put the pressure on Pickford now seems very likely, so that is one key position addressed - let Pickford know he has become droppable - he will either sink or swim then, another keeper breathing down his neck might be the making of him.

Another 'bench' striker would be a welcome bonus, as we are a light (although we do tend to forget about Tosun) .

In the words of Gordon Gekko " greed is good'¬†ūüėā

You are right though, this has been excellent whatever happens today.

agreed, niels james doucoure allan godfrey is a hell of a haul, and only spent 70m.  we spent well and bought for now and the future.  in previous regimes we would spend that on 2 players alone!

i'm very happy as is.

Would have preferred either Romero or Gazzaniga, but I guess you can't blame Spur or Man U for not wanting to make us stronger. But at least its giving Pickford a clear message - you need to cut out the mistakes or your on the bench.

I expect a permanent keeper might be high on Ancelloti's radar in the next couple of windows.

If we did move Walcott AND Bernard on (disregarding Bolasie and Sandro as not being registered even if they stay) then it is my understanding that we could still sign King or other players from the football league until 15th October (5pm)... is that right?

I was thinking that - The best of the football league will be still available to balance the squad if needed, and January is not a million miles away.

Bernard's wages are a luxury at the report £140k a week.

I trust Ancelloti and Brands will do what is needed.

Yeah, there's an extension for buying and selling EFL players until the 15th, so we'll still be able to purchase from the lower leagues if anyone fits the bill.

I didn't realise with it being deadline day, but we're in October already so there really isn't that far to go until the January window when you think about it - long enough if you've had a shite window don't get me wrong, but short enough to double check any "maybe" transfers.

Manchester United scared of little Everton?

You love to see it.

Youd think they see us as a threat, but their board must be really hard to work with. Nobody wants to sell them players and nobody seems to be able to buy theirs. That clubs only going one way long term and it doesn't look good for them.

agreed, class of 92 and sir alex were once in a century type happenings for them.  they won't make europe this year and will be facing financial ruin due to losses, shareholders, and i can see mass player exodus to make up for it.  glazers have them leveraged to the hilt.

as for everton, i'm confident a striker like josh king is coming, or carlo is ok with sandro/tosun when he's healthy.  DCL has been very healthy and doesn't seem to injure easily (he's no mccarthy).

Sandro has scored 3 league goals in 4 years, he won't play for Everton again. Real Valladolid and Huesca are interested in him but only on a free, it wouldn't surprise me at all if over the coming days his contact was mutually terminated, allowing him to move back to Spain.

You've got more chance of Carlo ringing you personally than Sandro being in an Everton shirt.

Hopefully Lossl and J Virginia both go out on loan. Lossl could be sold. With Godfrey in would be nice to get Branthwaite out playing as well. Still have Besic, Beni, Bolasie, Connolly, Pennington, Broadhead, and Bowler who need new clubs. If we're looking for an attacker Josh King, Benrahama or Deeney can still be brought in. Hopefully we're not done yet.

Been an amazing transfer window. Brought it some quality player in the right areas of the pitch, and without having to break the bank and paying sensible wages (in football terms).

What has been really interesting is listening to what wages other clubs are paying their players. I think our highest paid players are on between £100K and £140k, which is unbelievable money - and we talk about the high earners on the books.  But we are still a tier or two down on what the 'Top 6 clubs' (to which we are trying to break in to and compete with) are willing and able to pay their top players.

When you hear that a fringe player like Loftus Cheeks on £150K WTF!!! can that be right? Are Spur really paying Bale £300k a week wages (half his wages!!). Arsenal just bought Partey and his wage will be around £250K - so one player coming in on near double our highest earner and this is just scratching the surface of what these teams are paying the majority of their player. Cavani +£200K a week.

We are still nowhere near being able to operating in the same transfer market as all the top 6 teams, all of those teams simply operate to a different financial metric than us.

The sorts of wages that others are paying really put in perspective how well Brands and Co have done in getting in some genuine quality players this summer.
