Louis
If you have a student bank account please consider moving it to Halifax. They are not giving away a free railcard or a free ipod but they are giving away something which is far more valuable, a 0% overdraft until you graduate. They are offering £2,750 per year for your university course. So if you are doing a three year course by the end of the third year you can have an overdraft of £8,250. If you are feeling clever you may 'stooze' this away in a high interest rate (current highest is 5.15%) then you could earn up to £447 for simply not spending your money. GoldfishMemory
So this post is exactly for you then!! Get the account, clear it out and put it in a high interest saver account and when you leave pay back the overdraft and keep the interest you earned! CraccerC
^ is that not a loan? an overdraft just allows you to go in the red up to a certain amount, doesn't it, you have to pay however much you lose, it doesn't give you money to move around atleast i think

Meaning if its interest free but you dont need it you can draw on the overdraft put it in a high interest account for a year and earn a load of interest then just put it back at the end of the year keeping the interest. It only works for people with enough money to not need an overdraft tho' like you said before you

Bill
5% OF £1000 = £50 X 3 = £150 PER YEAR. X 3 YEARS = £450.............CLEAR.?? You would probs get more than that, because with the interest gained in the first year your account is now £3.150. which will earn you more interest in the second, and again in the third years. Thats the way it works mate. Edited August 31, 2006 by Licker

CraccerC
doesn't interest work compound so .... 5% of a = b 5% of b = c 5% of c = d b+c+d = total money made... as opposed to just 141 a year bla i don't know, but i'm not trying to be right, but you do have to have the last word...either way i'm reminded why i think your such a prick and still, i'm not going to do it, i don't have to, it's paperwork i don't want to do, for an extra little bit of money i'm not that bothered about Edited August 31, 2006 by CraccerC
