His size also sets some question marks on him. It will be interesting to see how he does in the U23s when his opponents are physically a better match.

Understand what you're saying, but he looks to have decent touch and an accurate boot.  Doesn't seem like just a man child, get more of that impression from Hornsby and his game style (but impressed/hopeful with him also).

Scored tonight in a 4-1 defeat to Derby. Apparently a run from just inside the Derby half topped off with a finish.

4 goals in 6 games for him whilst in the U23 squad. Looking like a promising player. Him and Gordon are looking like they want to push that first team!

So where does Simms fit into our striker decisions? Clearly he’s gonna need a step up for next season at the latest. If we think he’s gonna be a first teamer in the next year or two does that effect what we do in the next couple windows?

I’d say we have absolutely zero idea if he’s going to be a first teaser at this point. He’s not made his debut for us, he’s not played any first team football anywhere, so he shouldn’t even be coming into our thinking in regards to bringing someone in now.

He needs a loan move and then we go from there with him.

The Bundesliga has been a fantastic loan pool for young players, hypothetically speaking it would be great if we could send Ellis over there so that he could have competition against some strong teams (Bayern, BVB and Leipzig) then it would work very much in his favour.

The lower league pyramid is always a shout, but I think going to a new country can really improve the person, not just the player (just look at Sancho).

also seems like we could get higher fees if they end up not being part of our plans here.  i see 1m, 2m fees when we sell to lower english sides, might be able to squeeze more out over there since it's their top league.
