We are heading in the right direction, looking to have moved up a gear against better opposition in Monaco.

Good to see the youngsters getting minutes too although Lewis Gibson is showing his inexperience, caught out a few times and gave away a silly penalty that would have probably been buried in a Premier League game - great save from Stekelenburg though and again a few minutes later when they broke through. He won't get ahead of Pickford in the pecking order but it's good to have a solid number two in case of emergency.

Michael Keane was caught in possession at the start of the game but seems to have found his rhythm, Nathan Broadhead continues to impress me as I thought he was fantastic against Sion.

Oumar Niasse up top is struggling again, a handful of chances have fallen to him and he's failed to convert them. He doesn't even look that convincing linking up with the midfield, a definite weak point for us.

Let's get Kean/Costa or whoever else over the line ASAP.

Perfect summation. We need a striker and fast. To me, that should be our number one priority going forward in this window. We have the ability to create, but we don't have a striker capable of creating on his own.

Gibson gives away a penalty. He's been okay in this game, but that was a bad tackle and his inexperience showed.

He'd looked solid up until that moment. Duff pass from Schneiderlin sold him but like you say his inexperience showed. He went into panic mode, hopefully with experience he'll be more composed. Keane will have a red face too getting caught on the ball a couple of times.

Schneiderlin other that moment has been really good and has been carrying Gomes he looks all over the place, possibly not a naturally fit player.

Digne and Bernard their usual. Niasse was well Niasse until about the 20 minute mark when he nearly pulled off a van persie-esque touch from a ball over his shoulder. Confidence built and looked to get more involved from then on.

Agree with all of this. There's a good player in Gibson. He looks composed on the ball, but that penalty he gave away was terrible. Gomes looks out of touch right now, but we all know what he's capable of.

Niasse had moments where he looks good, but he's just not a good player from a technical standpoint.
