Nathan Broadhead

Recommended Posts

I think this lad needs his own thread. Last year’s u23 player of the season, been training with the full Welsh squad and figured heavily in pre-season so far - and looks a more than decent player.

I don’t know what the plans are for him but he seems to have gone under the radar a little but looks a cracking prospect.

He is going from strength to strength - seems to be making good use of his time away on loan and playing regular football.

We should be able to sell him for actual money instead of giving him away. Nice one.

Seems to be doing the business at Sunderland, got another today to make it 5 in 5

Got a few Mackem mates and they all love him

Being a Geordie I can’t admit to having Mackem friends, but this lad is a positive in a season of negative’s for the club Everton are touching people far and wide and if he can help get Sunderland into the championship good for him and good for us.

They'll loan him again next season and then he'll be out of contract. He keeps showing that he's injury prone so I can't see them (or anyone else) risking buying him in the summer.

Also it's not as if he's 19 or 20, he'll be 24 next season. Not saying he's past it obviously, but it's not as if he's some young guy who just broke onto the scene

Convinced Nathan Broadhead will retire aged 35, with a guard of honour after his 0 goals in 0 appearances.

Didn't Ossie go out repeatedly on loan until he was 24/25?

There's clearly something to him that is keeping the hope in him alive this long. Not like we're afraid of letting kids go for free

One season with Derby IIRC.

We’ll his wages are being paid by someone else. We put him on a contract and if he does well…. We sell him.
It’s money for nothing isn’t it? Not exactly bad business really.

Are his wages being paid? Genuine question. It's common I think for lower league clubs to ask higher clubs to keep paying some of the wages when the youngsters are on decent wages (even 5k a  week can be high for a lower league club).

it's a quid pro quo - you keep paying his wages as you would anyway and we will give him game time that you can't.
