Here’s what PSG were reported to have been quoted when interested in November...

’ The player, for his part, would be tempted by an experience in the French capital but Napoli are asking for a lot of money for the player, around 120 million euros. PSG, instead, would be willing to offer 80 million plus bonuses.‘

Oh wow, didn’t know that, thank you.  Well not sure how likely it is then.  He doesn’t fit the brands 26 and under profile either.

Unfortunately we need someone for now.

Gomes/Gbamin are young enough. Davies stays because of age but needs to push on.

anderian is looking good in the 23’s.

Simply put - Delph plays like a kid coming in from the 23’s, stupid, irrational and rushed.

42m?  hell no.  that's the whole transfer kitty.  just get a loan or something to get us through to summer.  this guy is 29 there is no sell on, his positino players don't last very long, could be done in 2 years time and were stuck with the costs.  a no from me.

If he is that good why not? We can’t buy everyone as an up and coming talent, we need to buy players who can come in and do the job right now. If Carlo thinks he will help the team then we need to trust his judgement. If we get four years out of him then it’s job done.

Yeah move on, should be getting this type of player when he joined Napoli.

I'd rather go and try get the player from Leeds

The club don’t seem too concerned about it.
If we were in breach we wouldn’t do it. The club would make it absolutely clear that if FFP was a reason for us not buying players we would know about it. It would just shut the fans up straight away.

Phillips? Looks very good - he’s a massive Leeds boy but imagine he’ll be in the Prem next season regardless of whether they go up. He’d probably cost about £30m though - younger but probably not as good... yet. Let’s not forget about Gbamin.

Then we are in the gylfi situation all over again.  Massive fee and wages and were stuck since we bought them at the end of their prime.

If you’re a selling club then that’s an problem, if you want to be at the top end of the league it needs to be more about the impact on the team not on the accounts.

On Gylfi, signing a 27 year old on a five year contract wasn’t bad. It’s the price you have to pay to get players in their prime.

We have to have experienced players in the team, it’s an absolute must. They have to be the right experienced players, but that means having lads who aren’t 23 on the pitch.
If only we had a 34 year old Gareth Barry on the pitch on Tuesday night, or even Phil Jagielka for that matter.

If this lad is the experienced player Carlo wants in his team he’s the player we need.
