Haven't seen much of him in live games but have watched a few videos of him and was blown away. So tenacious and technically gifted. Certainly the profile of a player we need in midfield right now. He's like a more dynamic Gueye, wins the ball but has the ability to drive forward with it and not allow the opposition to get back into shape. Couple that with the attacking threat of Richy and James we could have an exciting team next season.

Players like him do the job of a double pivot on their own.

He is a couple of notches above Gana imo, having said that I agree with all you said and can’t wait to see him in action, the prospect is exciting and the PL should suit him down to the ground.

He will prove to be our most pivotal signing this season, he will be the one that will allow Gomes Richarlison and Rodríguez if he comes to shine, he will win retain and deliver the ball with speed and precision, I know he will lead by example, I just pray he has voice and bollocks people around him who don’t give their all, we need a leader on the pitch we haven’t imo had one for some years.

This will be Ancelotti’s first full season and he knows he needs his own players the players he knows he can rely on, it’s time to kick ass we are moving up the gears, so fuck Brands and his picks he’s there to do Ancelotti’s paper work and get youngsters in for the U23s, Ancelotti is going to build his team with his players and Allan will hopefully be the start of this transition.

In the article he was also wanted by Athletico and Dortmund but chose us because of one thing his belief and respect for Ancelotti, that’s why if we only get Rodríguez on a year long loan and he has a blinder he will still sign after for Ancelotti.

Currently half way through his autobiography he co-wrote called Quiet Leadership. It has snippets of what players said about him when interviewed for the book. Ronaldo was very fond of him and Zlatan says he's the best manager he's ever worked with, at one stage carlo says to him 'so where are you going next in your career' and Zlatan replies 'I will go wherever you go, apart from Russia!'

It just shows the influence he seems to have on players. They want to work for him. He runs the club like a family and everyone seems to love him.

Sounds like he's had some Everton DNA in him for awhile now.

if the owner of napoli said the fee is agreed, WHY DOES IT TAKE US SO LONG TO SIGN SOMEONE!  spurs got hojberg in 2 days.  we are taking weeks with this.  it's enough to drive you crazy

Medical, photo op etc..The fee could be agreed but they may still have some small details to workout. Deep breaths, in the grand scheme a day or two makes little difference. Hell, the window is still open for 6 weeks or so.

It does make a difference when the season starts in 11 days.

Not in the grand scheme, particularly with a player who knows Carlo and very likely knows exactly the role he's being brought in to play. Always nice to get a player in early but I think it's often overblown. This is a guy we are expecting to play 100+ games in an Everton shirt. I'm not too bothered if he misses a training session or two.

Reports going around that Allan has not agreed contract with us yet and is holding out for an extra £1m in wages - hopefully crap. Perhaps hes not in a rush to get to the UK yet

Id take it with a pinch of salt. Hes just turned 29 not 33!

Oh definitely a case of wait and see what he looks like when he is on the pitch but it is a pretty comprehensive report on him.

Even if he isnt as quick as he used to be I am sure he will look rapid compared to our lot anyway! :)

Apparently his move was slowed down because he was awaiting a Visa for his dog 😂

We are Everton! This is pretty standard for our transfers. Manny Fernandez turning around because he preferred Tapas over pie and chips, Moutinho deciding against us because no cats are allowed in Goodison, and of course the infamous Riquelme.... thought he was signing for Everton de vin del mar in Chille!

Don't forget Banega and getting a work permit for him when we hadn't even signed him...
