Not sure why he’s getting all the stick when some haven’t even been noticed. At least he is always looking to get on the ball. Had a shot and created a couple of chances. Decision making has been dreadful he refuses to play digne through and wants to go it alone everytime he over laps. Other than that Southampton have played really well and if they defend as well as they habe second half we wont score a goal. James has needed to come deeper and deeper because we cant find him and Calvert Lewin is non existent as we have got nothing into the box for him to attack. Wouldnt know where to begin with changes, maybe Gordon is the only player that can offer us more in this game with his direct runs. Second goal iwobi was jogging back whilst 2 of their players queued up. He offers nothing in transition in terms of carrying the ball. He doesn't contain the attention of the full back. The problem is Soton play a good system which gets players between the lines and it catches out on the transition time and time again. Allan needs to hold his position more and I think Doucoure needs to sit alongside him with Siggy moving more as a 10. We are far too open. The one player change would be Godfrey. Its not working for the lad. We either have to move him into a back 5 or just sub him out. The problem is all these changes are very defensive when we need to score goals. He may have been our catalyst this season but James has been crap. Giving the ball away a lot and not offering a struggling Godfrey a lot of help either. One of the most striking things about the first couple matches was our ability to string together crisp passages of play and retain possession.
