Be a good game for gomes too, he's looked solid up to now, rough and tumble may help him. Gomes has been everywhere in this opening 15, literally getting into the centre of all our attacks which is good to see. James a little less so, but early days and we're against a side he really should be able to cut apart. Gordon looks bright too! Matt

Finishing never been a problem for Tosun, glad he had the confidence to take it as he did. Good run to find the space but that’s all about Gordon It was a good turn but there was acres of space to play the ball into Cenk, it would have been criminal if he didn't make the pass. The difference in quality in this game is stark even with a changed squad.

Zoo 2.0 967
Well that was a bit fucking scary. Olsen should have been going with his outside foot for that too, a save with his right foot puts that out to the wing whereas using his left put it on a plate in the middle of the box - might have been punished in the Premier League that. He's looked solid otherwise though, so I'm not moaning.

Popular Post Zoo 2.0 967
There's always a risk in football that you get sucked into playing the opposition's game as opposed to playing your own - that's what's happening here. Rather than taking an extra touch, moving the ball around at our own pace and managing the game we're being sucked into the hit and hope / 90mph football that Rotherham want to play (and as a result are second best). We just need to knock the game back down to first gear, retain possession and move the ball around - let the ball do the running for us. We need to do everything we can to play the Premier League way, as opposed to being sucked into lower league football. Wiggytop, MikeO, Bailey and 3 others

Olsen has been superb to he honest, he really has kept us in this - if it wasn't for us scoring the goal and being ahead I'd be worried actually. As it happens Carlo just needs to rocket at half-time and send out a team with a better mentality second half, as luckily Rotherham haven't put us to bed. Hopefully James can get more into the game second half too, bit anonymous so far. Shukes and Bailey

c1982 2,601
With a midfield 3 of James, Gomes and Davies, we’ve not got a very good mix - we should dominate Rotherham but we’re missing what Allan or Doucoure brings which allows us to control and dictate play. For them, I’ve been impressed with the right-back Olosunde - been very lively. Just googled him and he’s a young American lad who was at Man U.
Zoo 2.0 967
Rotherham completed 82% of their passes that half, something we need to reduce in the second. Win the first (and second ball) to kill any momentum going forward, a team like this shouldn't be able to complete so much play at our home ground. Agreed about the back four too @Bailey, we're crying out for a leader mate - expect Keane to step up tbh. Not to turn this into an Olsen/Pickford debate, but this is one of the latters strengths IMO, Jordan always looks to be very vocal and very demanding of his back four.
Wiggytop 642
Missed the first 14 minutes, and from what I’ve seen since then it’s been awful, poor playing out of the back, not winning knock downs, misplaced passing. Only decent bit was when we slowed down for Tosuns second chance, need to play our own game with more assurance. Keane seems to be off the pace, Coleman keeps over running the ball and in to trouble, surely we will be better in 2nd half.
