If they aren’t injured they’d be on the bench. You do not put a bench out like that unless you have to.

Or unless you have faith in the senior players you have to choose from and want to give guys like Davies, Coleman and James a day off mentally. Carlos rotates regularly. It is known.

Slight knocks for James, Tom, Seamus and Olsen, so rested tonight but expected OK for Thursday.

The starting 11 is strong enough to beat Southampton, as long as we come out and play with some urgency and don’t play negative.

100% need to come out flying and batter them for 20 minutes. Early goal is what we need

Forster playing only his second game of the season in goal for Southampton, something we really need to take advantage of, although I do rate him as a decent option for a mid-table side.

No win in eight now for Southampton, we really need to make that nine. Carlo has never lost four home games in a row, so extra motivation at our end.

RICHIE 💙!!!

That's a great goal y'know, bullet long ball from Pickford followed by great determination from DCL to win both headers. Sigurdsson cool as a cucumber slots it through on a plate for Charlie who takes it around Forster and scores.

10/10 all round, brilliant.
