Watford (Away) 11th May

I only live 25 mins from the ground - obviously couldn't get any tickets in the away end, & by the time I heard our fans were buying home tickets in the home end next to the away fans they had all sold out 😔

Probably for the best to be honest as we have a 6 year old & a 12 week old at home, so bed time is a bit tricky for one person,  plus with us being on form & Watford having most of their first team out, we are obviously losing anyway!

Although having said that, if anyone has a spare I can be there in 25 minutes!!

My lad asked me today if I'd ever been to Vicarage Road and I have, twice. First was a 1972 FA Cup game when I was 12 and my local team, Guildford City (where we had season tickets) made it to the cup proper; then two years later I went to an Elton John gig there.

Don't think that was what he was looking for😂

Why do I have a queasy feeling seeing Gosling in their starting line-up?

Hadn't even realised he was their player; he's a "shut your eyes and run" man, always has been (one glorious, and very lucky, moment aside). Not worried.

He's one of those guys, and fair play to him for it, who's stolen a living as a pro; he'll get out set up for life when he finishes, never have to work again (unless he has a gambling habit which many seem to).

And that goal, him and van der Meyde combining, the unlikeliest contribution ever!

I thinking/hoping we will be full of swagger after being uncertain over the past few weeks, let’s get our highest score of the season tonight 👍💙

I would love a bit of payback for that 5:2 home defeat that knocked the stuffing out of us in October. However, I would just settle winning by a single goal.

I once had to deliver the match ball at Vicarage Road for a Watford Bournemouth game a few years ago.  My work at the time had sponsored some part of the match bollocks.  Silva was our manager.

On the pitch just before the game I had to hand over the ball and they had to ask me a few questions.  Just before this I told them that I was a big Everton fan and I was going to tell the 21,000 supporters that the ball was being delivered with love from Goodison.

They begged me not to do it, which I wasn't prepared to commit to so in the end I got to deliver the ball but they didn't let me anywhere near the microphone. I was gutted as I really really wanted to know what it felt like to get booed by the whole ground.  I would have been in big trouble with work but it would have been well worth it.

Anyway, COYB!
