The guy with the money is mates with Steve Bannon. No directly to Trump, but one of his allies.
But rich old American fellas will know plenty of other rich old American fellas. With many of them not being very nice.

Also, some of the assumptions I’ve read about what these people will do with the club, how they finance it, and many more are massive jumps from just a couple of articles so far. 😂

Hopefully if these guys come in they want the stadium to be a little bit bigger and have a few adjustments put in.

With the planning applications required  I can’t see that happening.

This has little do with anything football related  but I don’t believe Bannon and Trump are allies at this point. Trump tends to discard people once they’ve served their purpose and Bannon lost control of the monster he helped create years ago.

Here is supposed consortium member John Thornton chilling with Bannon and Farage.  Apparently Thornton is in the 2019 Steven Bannon documentary (haven't seen personally) giving his support of the man and encourages Bannon to be the intellectual entrepreneur for the populist-nationalist uprisings of our time.  Get that all super rich folks have dirty hands but would not be very excited about these connections.

It could be a missed opportunity Kenyon at least knows how to run a successful football club. The owner and board we have now have failed miserably in the last 6 years, Moshiri has also lost his partner and money man and hasn’t been seen at a game for months, if he is even contemplating selling he definitely sees no future with the club anymore, and let’s be honest there could be far more worse offers that come along that he accepts if this one doesn’t materialise, after all his biggest concern won’t be us it will be getting his and Usmanov’s money back with a bit on top.

Oh fuck no. Steve Bannon is miserable and evil. If any potential owners support him then it's a "fuck off" for me.

I'm sure current management will take my words very seriously too.

I would guess that on average most billionaire owners/consortiums are going to be of that ilk.

Peter Kenyon-led consortium given exclusivity for Everton takeover talks

Exclusive: Telegraph Sport understands that Poland-born American businessman Maciek Kaminski is providing the greatest weight behind the bid

ByMatt Law,  FOOTBALL NEWS CORRESPONDENT14 June 2022 • 4:46pm

The Peter Kenyon-led consortium bidding to buy Everton have secured an exclusivity agreement for talks aimed at clinching a deal.

Telegraph Sport revealed on Monday that Kenyon is fronting a group, including chief executive of Minneapolis-based Talon Real Estate Maciek Kaminski and American businessman John Thornton, trying to buy Everton.

Heads of terms have been signed and it is understood that Kenyon’s group have agreed a period of exclusivity to hold detailed talks with Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and to carry out due diligence on the club.

Everton and Kenyon’s group have declined to comment on the talks, which have been described as “positive”. Telegraph Sport understands that, while the former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive is fronting the group, Kaminski is providing the greatest financial weight behind the bid.

Kaminski is said to be a very private individual and it is unclear whether his wealth is personal or if he has secured funding through his business interests.

Attempts to contact Kaminski, who was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States aged eight, have so far been fruitless but a source told Telegraph Sport: “Kaminski is the money behind the bid. There is not a lot of information out there about him, but the word is he has significant funding behind him.”

Sources believe that, should a deal be agreed, then Everton will be sold for more than £500 million, including the club’s debt, while any new owners would also have to fund the new £500m stadium.

Kenyon has been advising clubs and prospective owners for a number of years from his base in Jersey. His company Opto Advisers have been involved with the transformative takeovers of Paris Saint-Germain and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has worked with Atletico Madrid and Middlesbrough, and was involved in a bid to buy Newcastle United.

He is not thought to be in line to earn any commission on the purchase of Everton and the current expectation is that Kenyon would take a role as part of any new ownership.

Thornton is the executive chairman of Barrick Gold, one of the world’s largest mining companies with a net worth of £31 billion, and non-executive chairman of PineBridge Investments, having stepped down as co-president of Goldman Sachs in 2003.

The consortium’s bid is being advised by investment specialist Michael Klein, along with the US law firm Weil, Gotshal and Manges. Klein was an adviser to the Sir Martin Broughton-fronted bid to buy Chelsea. The group made the final shortlist, but missed out to the Todd Boehly-led consortium

There's not a chance Moshiri wasn't already in these negotiations when he put out that statement the other day. It's moving too quickly for it to not have been on the agenda then.

From what I’ve read it moved from funding support to the possibility of a full takeover.  But, yes, he will have been aware when he put out his statement.

I wonder if it gets to this point had we gone down. Fine margins

Yeah that's what I mean. These convos were all predicated on surviving. "Hey we can talk but I'm out of you don't survive" type of conversation. Now we've survived there are multiple interested parties.

that said how long did it take NCL to get bought. Amanda Stavely was on years...most of which was prob down a reluctant seller in Mike Ashley. At least we have somewhat of a willing seller.

I have to believe this doesn’t happen unless Moshiri puts it out there. Especially with our value likely to go up when we are in the new stadium.

That’s why I was recklessly speculating that he may have taken a financial hit over the last couple years and be looking for support/to cash out.

The Newcastle deal was delayed by the premier league and the TV broadcasters. Not Ashley being reluctant, he wanted the money and to get out of there.

From the figures being touted it looks like Moshiri wants what he paid for the club + the money spent on players + 10 million pocket money. His tenure Basically a complete waste of life and tears.

Loving the fact that Kenyon looks like Mr Rottweiler, bloke that Richie and Eddie were kicking the gas from in Bottom.

Are we sure that’s not Jeff Bezos? He could fund us with the change from his couch cushions

He’s got me sold already! 😂

Get professionals to do their jobs and leave them to it. 👍🏻

That's definitely what I want from an owner.  Look after the business and let the people under you who are experts in what they do get on with what they do such as your DOF and manager!

Randomly just mentioned it to someone on a work call at the moment and his dad is best mates with Kenyon!

Not sure about the potential owners but I don't imagine liking the sound of many potential owners in Premier league teams.

Respectively disagree - in the beginning (not the Saudis) Ashley was thinking the value was not being met despite stavely fronting several bids.

It's a wierd one. On the one hand it has been obvious for some time that Moshi MishMash has been out of his depth. The thing that scares me is just when things have a glimmer of stability about them, a new owner may come in and shake it all up again.

I was really starting to feel Relaxed  that Frankie and his Hollywood team would get a good run at bringing the Power of Love back to the Pleasuredome that is Goodison Park. I just hope that if new owners do come in it doesn't end up with Two Tribes going to war again.
