Couldn't give a shite who he supported, so long as he gives 110% every week he'll do just fine for me.

Swear some people wouldn't be happy unless our signings grew up on a strict diet of crushed up Everton mints since birth.

It’s also worth noting that some want everyone who plays for us to live and die for the badge but as soon as they make a mistake, want a bigger contract, get injured they are very quick to personally attack etc..

Some of our fans fuming cos he’s a kopite….  Ever seen many of our players kicking off like this over the redshite getting calls?  Welcome to the club connor

Gordon’s a childhood kopite… most people who make it as professionals don’t actually support a club as we understand supporting (die hard) a club as it’s their job.

Basically, the reason we’ve got him and Wolves allowed this is that Coady is a limited player - he’s accomplished in a 3 man defence which is clearly the system we’ll be playing and Wolves won’t - he doesn’t suit a back 4. They’ve probably allowed the loan deal rather than dig their heals in over a permanent deal out of respect.

Is it option to buy or obligation to buy?

Will play a sweeping role in a back 3, fitting into Frank's apparent philosophy, so is a signing with a purpose. But that's not the only purpose. A natural leader, which is well needed, as well as another player who doesn't miss a game and has experience in the league.

Out of the 304 league games over the last 4 seasons, Coady and Tarkowski have missed 7 between them. Seems like Lamps is tired of the current lack of fit players in the team.

Also seems like his insistence on just doing whatever the manager wants to help the club would mean that if he ends up on our bench sometimes he won’t be too bothered as he knows his role is to be a leader and mentor as much as anything.

I would imagine as long as Lampard sticks with the back 3 consistently, Coady and Tarkowski will be first on the team sheet. It will be interesting to see who his preferred 3rd would be if all players stayed fit. I would think Mina, but I wonder what the pecking order is now. I still see Keane as more as a sensible option than Godfrey and Holgate.

Very genuine guy and seems absolutely right for our club. Loved the bit about his son doing training at Finch Farm. As someone said we do seem to be bringing team players with the right attitude. Respect to Frank, Thelwell and training staff. Obviously they go a long way to making us an attractive place to be.

Interesting reading.....

Coady plays in a 3 which is why his numbers are less, Godfrey and Mina are comparable to Tark, just wish they were available.

Wolves fans rate him and most think we have picked there pockets having him in our squad this season.

He instantly improved a back three . Whoever lines up next to Tarkowski and Coady at the back will know about it if they fuck up and I am pretty sure it will improve them as players themselves by having two strong leader next to them  - having these two as your senior CB's could massively impact Godfrey, Holgate and Branthwaithe.

To me the bar for getting on the pitch and what is going to be expected as a CB for Everton has been raised up massively this summer.
