What a disappointment Hamilton is.... He was a breath of fresh air when he first emerged. Easy to like him.... roll on a few years and he's an insufferable prick.  Can't stand the spoilt little shit.

Agree 100%. Compare/contrast with JB who was on Sky today, total gent who won and lost with dignity; a level below the quality of driver Hamilton is but so much more class.

Bit like comparing Colombia and Japan at the World Cup.

Not really, Bottas should've pitted but keeping Mr Sulky out was the right call, he lucked into second but still made an embarrassment of himself at the end, spat the dummy and dodged the post race interview (never seen anyone do that before). He really is an obnoxious little shit.....did I ever mention before that I'm not a fan:lol:?

not a fan either  really wish Jenson was still involved.

Jenson Button.... Never realised how cool he was till the latter years of his career. Crackin lad. Liked his women, was a tidy racer, had a sense of humour- top triathlete.

It was funny watching him having a little tantrum in his seat while his car sat in the wall

Always hated the man as you know Mark but since I became an "anyone but Hamilton" fan it's any port in a storm. I suppose if anything I'm a McLaren fan nowadays (anyone but LH aside) but that's a largely thankless task:(.

I just got a notification from the SSN app saying Hamilton’s win is under investigation, but there’s nothing on the channel, weirdly.

BBC..

Lewis Hamilton could lose his victory in the German Grand Prix after being summoned to the stewards to explain a driving misdemeanour.

The Mercedes driver aborted a decision to pit to change tyres under a late-race safety car and cut across the grass to rejoin the track and take the lead.

The F1 rules dictate that "crossing the line separating the pit entry and the track by a car entering the pit lane is prohibited".

Bugger...

'The race stewards said that although Hamilton had clearly broken the rules on entering the pits, a reprimand was the "appropriate penalty". Other possible punishments included a five- or 10-second penalty.

The ruling took into account that the driver and team admitted their mistake; that the offence was during a safety car period, when the speed of cars on track is controlled; and that the manoeuvre did not endanger any other drivers and was "executed in a safe way".'

I don't like Hamilton but I can't root against him. At the same time I don't particularly care when he loses and don't get much satisfaction from his victories.

As always you're such a reasonable and fair thinking person Mark:unsure:. Not:lol:.

You're normally so black or white mate (no skin colour issue suggestion obviously) seeing you in a shade of grey (no soft porn book involvement either) is a bit unusual.

 I know. I think it's just because he's British.

Absolutely no doubt, though, that if he was going up against another "one of ours" then I'd be wanting them to win over him.

It might also have to do with me absolutely despising Ferrari and Vettel as well!

If Bottas is pissed about today then he should have been faster when team orders had no business being used earlier in the season. He's got the same car as Lewis yet has taken until Russia to have a nailed on chance of winning. Where was this pace in Australia, Bahrain, China etc? Not that I'm bashing Valtierri, I think he's a solid set of hands and a great part of the Mercedes machine but you simply can't be upset about what happened today given how the title race is shaping up. He's not in the fight for the grand prize and points are everything at the business end of the season, like it or not the only two drivers relevant at the moment are Lewis and Seb.

In theory, Hamilton can DNF twice now and still win the title, had he come second today then he couldn't. It's basic strategy. Can you imagine the rattlement if Lewis let Bottas back through and then lost the title by a point in Abu Dhabi? Nah, not having it. Mercedes were spot on today and had the roles been reversed then Bottas would be the first to celebrate, as would Vettel/Kimi etc. It's not great viewing or what the fans want to see but it's about winning and as quickly as possible, whilst it might not seem like a necessary move at the moment it could well prove to be when the chequered flag comes out in November - if Bottas wants to stop being a wingman then he needs to drive faster and take a note out of Nico's book - even Sebastian when asked about the move in the paddock said that it was totally understandable.

Hamilton going to win the title but delighted he's not going to be able to celebrate it from the podium as it stands.

I doubt he’ll care tbh.

On a different subject; I’m so tired of F1 being mostly about the tyres. I long for a return to it being about the cars and drivers.

Couldn't agree more, they now have a f'king DJ on the podium. Just said to Josh that unless something radical changes I'm done, it's the only real reason I pay Sky a fortune every month but no idea why I bother.

It makes it so boring. Half the time the drivers aren’t able to really race because they’ve got to save their tyres, and then when they fall off a cliff the drivers are just sitting targets. I want to see them battling for most of the race, but they’re unable to do that when they have to nurse the tyres for as long as possible.

F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle in terms of the drivers and the cars/technology but we rarely get a chance to actually see it. The drivers aren’t happy and can’t be enjoying it, and a lot of the fans certainly aren’t. Something needs to change or they’ll keep losing fans.
