We end up with a load of rag tag and bobtails, and trying to blend them into a good team, is proving hard to achieve. In this coming window, we desperately need a top class striker. Just the one will do for me, then we can think about who else in the summer, but buying cheap only backfires in the long run, et al Kilbane and Bent. ITS NO GOOD TRYING TO BUILD A TEAM IF YOU ARE CHANGING PLAYERS EVERY TRANSFER WINDOW. LETS BUY THE GOOD ONES WHO ARE GOING TO STAY FOR 4 OR 5 YEARS. Licker. scouse Posted December 16, 2005 Report Share Posted December 16, 2005 To be honest you cant mention Mendes in the same bracket as Killer or Bent he is a far better player, didnt he win the Euro cup with Porto? and he is a Portagul international? Given that midfield is our strongest area as such a striker would be priority with maybe a keeper aswell. Then lets off load the likes of killer etc in the summer and build again. Mendez was never good enough before they came in, now he's further down the batting order than he was before. When was the last game he played for anyone. ? not good enough. IMO.
