Very interesting little league table.

I know it is all what ifs and maybe's. but something it does hightlight is that we have not be riding our luck at all this season, we are in the top 6 becasue we more than deserve to be there. And if anything are unlucky maybe not to be better off all things being equal.

Thats all very incouraging.

I know it's another if, but if we'd managed to win back to back games consistently (which you would expect of a team challenging for Europe) then we could be up there for the title if you think about it

I would'nt mind us managing to put back to back seasons together ! its always a worry for me that we'll finish 6th or 7th this season and then struggle in 11th or 12th next season, I just hope we can stave off the so called bigger clubs <_< inevitable big bids for johnson, cahill and arteta which i think will definately come in for all 3 at the end of this season, plus weather or not the players might be tempted to leave us for the chance of champions league football, I know we'd get good money for them but they would be hard to replace !! It's a real concern, but maybe (hopefully) the sky money we will get will stop kenwright from being tempted by the big money offers !

the problem with the "what if.." table is that we would have gone down a few years ago if it was done on correct results. 97- we stayed up, bolton went down- we beat bolton on a "goal" that never crossed the line, it was good though becase it completed big duncs hat-trick.

we stayed up on goal difference. if that goal had not standed we would have gone down.
