I'm not an Everton fan myself and apologise in advance for this (In fact, I support Norwich City), but my father was a Toffee through and through before he died in 1995. A friend of his, who I only knew by the name 'manyfaces', was also an Everton fan and gave me and my brother his scarf at his funeral in London. If I knew his real name I would thank him for talking to us at the funeral. I haven't seen anyone from his side of the family since his death and know little about them.
