aaron Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Bookies fav is Jose as you would suspect. hes at 4/1 Next its big phil. cant remeber his odds Then martin o'neil at 7/1 joint with him stuart pierce next alan shearer at 14/1 then on the very outside its.....david beckham at 5000/1 who would you want as boss? i personally think we should try for Lippi or mourinho Quote
MikeO Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 Pitiful that McLaren can't be a man and resign... The Football Association are to hold a board meeting on Thursday at 0830 GMT to discuss Steve McClaren's future. After his side failed to qualify for Euro 2008, McClaren insisted he would not resign as England coach. "I'm not steping down," McClaren told BBC Sport after England, who needed just a point to qualify from Group E, lost 3-2 to Croatia at Wembley. "I take responsiblity - it was my job to get us qualified and I failed to do it. I'm not discussing my future." Full odds here...>>>LINK<<<< Martin O'Neil would do for me by preference, but anyone really....my granny would be a step up from McLaren, and she's been dead twenty years! Quote
StevO Posted November 21, 2007 Report Posted November 21, 2007 im praying mourinho, i think hes the only manager who could handle the big time charlies we have croatia played as a unit, with a hell of a lot of ability, and they played with the pride that ours should. well done to them! Quote
GoldfishMemory Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I want the special one :speak_cool: Quote
TrueBlue Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I'd want the special one but I heard that he's not allowed to be England manager for the next 4 years. Some contract he signed a while back, somethine likethat Quote

Ex-Pat-Sefton Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Has to be Mourinho if The FA are serious about wanting to win something. Love him or loathe him, he is the best. As for the not allowed to be England Manager. Probably more like not allowed to be England manager while at Chelsea which would now be null and void. Or maybe he signed something about not managing another English club, but England is a different kettle of fish. Croatia played England off the park. All we were doing was lobbing long balls in. And at 2-1 down with about half an hour to go (plenty of time) we were running round like headless chickens as if it was the last minute. Terrible. After Sven most wanted an English manager, now we see how crap they are. So lets get Jose in. Edited November 22, 2007 by Ex-Pat-Sefton Quote
jacko 1990 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 i Want Jose, but would love to see MArtin O'neil take the job, but can't see it happening with the team he's got a Villa, Basically Englands U21 team! Who ever it is they can't be as bad as the last 2 we have had! Quote
Calico Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I don't think it matters. English players find it hard to play football together because of something more than the England manager. It's a miracle Sven got them winning in the first place. Quote
Romey 1878 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I want Mourinho too but I can't see it happening tbh, it will more than likely be O'Neill. The reason McClown wouldnt resign is because now he gets a big fat pay off. Quote
StevO Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 got to be someone who can be blunt with these players, tell them they arent as good as they think, drop them when they play shit, not treat them like untouchables! someone who has been more successful than the players, i think Lippi fits the bill, as did Scolari. Quote
MikeO Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Forget O'Neil and Mourinho and the rest, got it sorted. Only one option...Slaven Bilic ! Quote
aaron Posted November 22, 2007 Author Report Posted November 22, 2007 ALthough sven wasnt liked he did actually do well, if you look at his win - lose ratio he won a hell of alot more than he lost. Lippi is my top choice, then jose. I also hear capello would like the job Quote
Romey 1878 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Maybe getting in a new manager will actually make me give a shit what the nation team do, I don't even own an England shirt anymore. Quote
StevO Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Capello would be handy, but im with mike, Bilic for England! Quote
carlmc25 Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 didn't Shearer say he wanted it a couple of weeks ago, if he has his badges then he's odds on for the job imo. Quote

Totally agree, we need someone with an ego and won't pick the media's and FA's favourtie players but will do it HIS own way. Thats why I'm hoping its Mourinho as he has the biggest ego out of them all, but I wouldnt mind Lippi if it was. Quote
Calico Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Capello or Lippi IMO. Both have track records that make Mourinho's impressive one look quite... unimpressive Quote
LexKing Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Those all 3 mentioned possibilities , Lippi , Mourinho or Capello , are all good possibilities. Mourinho has learn English way of life and football , Lippi and Capello as italian wellknown managers Know how to make defence working. Anyway i think they would had ahrd time in England cause they wouldnt have that kind of personal technique on players what they have had in use with italian players. Hmm gonna be boring euro2008 for me cause now there aint any teams in i would like to support to the title :crying_anim02: Just hoping Finland would go someday in the Euro or World Cup competition ANd when they arent there at least wanna see England there. :jerry: Quote
Louis Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Rafa Benitez has also thrown his hat into the ring... "Maybe I could be Steve McClaren's replacement if I improve my English. I was being serious. You never know what can happen in the future." He's had a spat with the Chairman over transfer funds apparently. Quote
Blue 250 Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Rafa Benitez has also thrown his hat into the ring... IN RAFA WE TRUST!! Quote

LexKing Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 (edited) But for real ,does some1 think rafa would be good enought? For seriously? Only thing i wouldnt wanna see happen would that DM would be new England coach :suicide_anim: Hes good enought for sure , but he has work to do in Everton and i wanna see how far he can bring us Edited November 23, 2007 by LexKing Quote

aaron Posted November 23, 2007 Author Report Posted November 23, 2007 Tbh i think he would be ok, not as good as lippi or jose imo. But benitez isnt scared to drop players, you only have to look at his rotation policy. Cant see it happening anyway Quote
Bill Posted November 23, 2007 Report Posted November 23, 2007 Rafa would be fooked if he couldnt pick any spanish players. Quote
TrueBlue Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I would be happy to see Rafa at the helm, as someone stated he seems that he isn't scared to drop players and its clear to see that he has that tactical awareness in european football. Quote
Calico Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Yes, but has little idea of how ENGLISH football works, and so most likely English football players. Just look at the list of English players he has dropped. Quote
