Calico Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 A tough game, and I reckon a tight result in the end. I'd be happy with a draw. Quote
carlmc25 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 A tough game, and I reckon a tight result in the end. I'd be happy with a draw. I think we're a better team than Portsmouth but the only worry is after such a big win sometimes you go into the next game a little complacent or get frustrated easily if the opposition don't roll over. Portsmouth is massive now, if we can beat them away then I definitely think we'll be in that top 6 come end of the season - if we can turn them over all the teams like Blackburn, Pompey, Villa and City will know they have a fight on their hands. I don't think there is much doubt we have the fifth best team/squad in the premiership, now it's time to prove it. Let's get stuck in after them from the start. COYB! Quote
robin.jones Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 I don't think pompey will be easy I think we can win but I think a draw is more likely. Quote
Romey 1878 Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 0-0 or 1-1. I can't see us getting the 3 points from this game. Quote
StevO Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 as long as we dont lose its not bad Quote
traigar Posted November 26, 2007 Report Posted November 26, 2007 Yeah it's important we don't lose ground to them, so a draw wouldn't be too bad, however I'll be in the stands, so would love the boys to get a win! Quote
Calico Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 A draw is two points off them, as long as we take all three off 'em at Goodison. Quote
Guest blueboy122 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 I think this will be one of the hardest matches this season i rate portsmouth very highly they are a hard working team with a fantastic manager. on the attack they can be very dangerous! but the defence isnt the srongest if yakubu plays he has got the pace and the strength to turn them over. also when he gets tired we can bring on either big vic or andy johnson. i predict a hard fought 1-0 win big yak to get the goal o ye just a little word on yak. i think he is goin to be a great buy for everton. there somethin about him wen he gets the ball u expect him to do somethin.. his work rate has cum in2 question these last few weeks but against birmingham i thoguht he was excellent chased back to the half way line wins the ball and spreads it out wide. he throughly deserved his 2 goals! keep it up yak! Quote
CraccerC Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 i think we'll lose 2-0 tbh, we're due an everton flat performance Quote
adamsmith69 Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 very hard game to predict, as which everton is going to turn up is anybody's guess, mind you we are playnig consistently well at the moment and i feel a 2-1 win coming on, cahill 2 Quote
Blue4Ever Posted November 27, 2007 Report Posted November 27, 2007 think we will lose 3-1 but I hope im wrong. Quote
gethinO Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 What would be your line up? Same as saturday? Im sure thats what moyes will go with cant change a side that won 7-1 can you! Quote
Bill Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 They havent played a midweek game so no need to rest anybody. I think he should play the same team, but you never know with DM. PS ..... in the ECHO today............ David Moyes: There are no guaranteed starters at Everton Nov 28 2007 DAVID MOYES has warned the players who fired Everton's magnificent seven last Saturday that their heroics do not mean they are now regular starters. The Blues boss sprang a surprise against Sunderland by resisting the opportunity to hand fit-again pair Andrew Johnson and Leighton Baines an immediate recall. Quote
Everton_Worshiper Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Me.... 4-2 to us. Too many people on good goal scoring form but a bit of a leaky defence, so I am going with 4-2 Quote
Blue 250 Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Seems that Harry Redknapp and Portsmouths chief executive Peter Storrie have just been arrested by police investigating corruption charges! Not the best match preperation for Evertons visit.....I hope! Quote
RuffRob Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Emm I was thinking the same thing - will either distract them or galvanize them - a la Italy!!! I wonder what will come out of the wash on this one - bet the odds on him being the next England manager have just taken a tumble!!! Quote
Josh Berno Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Gunna be a tough game away as well think were gunna get beat but i hope i am thinkin wrong! Quote
james_roberts Posted November 29, 2007 Report Posted November 29, 2007 Maybe I should get the train down, see if I can pull another 7:1 out of the bag I am impressed with Portsmouth, but I honestly believe we are a lot better than them =/ Hopefully this will come to fruit Quote
Everton_Worshiper Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 Well my lucky pound for this game is going on the following bet: Kranjcar to score first, and Everton to win 4-2 .... 450-1 So send me and the team lots of positive vibes..... Quote
EFCfanatic Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 I'd go with the same team and the result to be 3-1 to us. it will be tight but we will shit 'em on the break! 2 Cahill and AJ off the bench. Quote
jamiemaher85 Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 ^^^ good luck with that one!!! would be ace if you pulled it off!!! Personally i can see a 0-0 draw. Don't know why, i have read alot about this game stating that their is bound to be lots of goals because everton and pompey have been involved with the two top scroing prem games this season. so we may see a hard fought goaless draw as when people expect lots of goals it never happens. However it would be nice to see yak scoring on a return to fratton park Quote
chicagoblue Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 (edited) I have to go with the masses on this one, I think a good number of goals, neither team is brilliant in defense at the moment with lots of firepower blazing away up top. 3-2 us Cahill, Pienaar, and Vic for us - Krancjar and Benjani for them. Edited November 30, 2007 by chicagoblue Quote
Raccyboy Posted November 30, 2007 Report Posted November 30, 2007 2-0 to them -- we should have left a few goals over from last week Quote
J*A*C*K*E*L*Z Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 2-1 to us no possibility of a clean sheet- us to go 2-0 up from arteta and yakubu kanu late strike to make it a good old nail bitter Quote
Blue4Ever Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 2-1 to us no possibility of a clean sheet- us to go 2-0 up from arteta and yakubu kanu late strike to make it a good old nail bitter Injured so SS say Quote
jamiemaher85 Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 ok, i previously posted that i thought it would be 0-0, but had a dream last night that it finished 3-2 to us. Here's hoping.... Quote
MikeO Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Unchanged team....can't argue with that. Quote
MikeO Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 Is Baines on the bench? Wessels Hibbo Jags Vic AJ No Baines (or Gravesen). Quote
