  1. One of the questions I always wonder about is this..... That Peter Lim chap offered shed loads for Liverpool....and they didn't even respond because of the NESV stuff.

Now why doesn't someone from EFC go to Lim and say something like:

"We know you were rejected by them, we are cheaper to buy and practically on the same footing in terms of potential and playing staff. Put your money to us, and lets prove them wrong for turning you down!?"

I know it sounds like we are second choice.... but so far NO ONE has put money to us.

    What do you guys think?!

  2. I agree with all the comments Rodders not being worth £30m now.. I think you have to look at potential, and that is where it is fingers in the air stuff. When we sold Rooney all my Pool supporting mates were saying " he ain't worth that... not done anything.." etc etc.. How much is he worth now? United in many respects got a steal with him, although.. you couldn't guarantee whether he would or wouldn't.

I think Rodwell is the same... he is such a talent, so composed, two footed, plays a number of positions, can score, pass, tackle head etc... all sounds like a normal footballer... thing is he makes it look easy!!! Will he continue to develop like Rooney, who I think is one of the best around at the moment (despite Sat) or will he got the way of Schumacher etc? Guys who were tipped and didn't do it?! Time will tell... but I agree with the comment, that if the top clubs what our top talent, they pay for it... and my thoughts are he is gonna be huge.... 14 out of 20 managers think he is the next big thing.... I would take that from the guys who know!!!!

  3. "Toffees boss David Moyes hailed Fellaini as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League after his performance at Arsenal in Saturday's 2-2 draw and the Belgian has certainly recaptured his best form at Goodison".

Moyes isnt daft he knows how to raise the fee. I can see our next £25m coming in to boost our transfer budget.

Agree... as much as I would hate to see him leave, as he has now found some really good form, I think that Moyes is looking to boost his price. Would have to be in the region of £25m to make it worth while, considering we shelled £15m for him......

  4. As a squad player, I think he will be a good signing. Who else is available at the moment on a FREE TRANSFER that can bolster our defence? He's and EPL player, he's a national team captain. The transfer window is over and we've got a small squad as it is.

Yep totally agree. Proven prem level player, on a free. Some people here want us to get squad players in... and when we do for nothing, they are not good enough.. I think he wil be a good addition. nothing barnstorming, but good.

  5. Agree with the above...we need to maintain the high ground. At the end of the day, as someone already said, he is not an Evertonian, and to him, playing for us was a job. Would any of you, offered 3 times your salary for doing the same job, stay loyal to your current employer? For him it is a job... our passion is deeper, but doesn't mean he is a crap bloke.

Was a top player for us, hope he is shite for them, but lets leave the kiddy jibes at home!

Top player......beg to differ,as previous posts have said "Jagielka made him look good" remember start of last season how badly he was exposed,it was only when Jags moved back that the ship steadied.

Look at the stats for the defenders for last season regarding tackles, blocks, clearances etc and you will find he is near the bottom, his only plus was his goals. But like everyone has said he is not our concern anymore so lets move on

As for "kiddy jibes" think you will find it will be a bit more heated when he returns

Agree will be worse when he comes.. but seriously none of us would do differently in his position as a previous poster said..

In terms of a top player.. yeah he started last year badly, but was player of the year the year before... and if he was as crap as being made out.. this thread would not be here... would there be a thread like this for Shandy Andy? No... why... cos he WAS shite for us!

  6. Agree with one of the comments above about the 'klingon' comment. When he was playing for us and some of that crap was coming out, people were leaping to his defence and slagging opposition fans for being so cruel and ignorant.

Lets try and keep the moral high ground here. He's gone, we've recieved a great price and getting angry and bitter over it all is not really going to do us any favours. Although having said that I expect a hell of a reception when we play city.

  7. If i could choose i would either have senderos or shawcross for some reason i dont like taylor

Taylor all the way... Senderos is too mistake prone, and all the Arse fans I know are desperate to get rid. Shawcross has had one season, yes looks good, but still has some proving and for £12m, needs to be more experienced. Taylor is proven quality, Newcastle fans would hate to lose him, and he can cover two positions.

Hangeland would be an excellent signing though, but def get Taylor before him.... younger, two positions and quicker.

  8. In regards to the Board being held to account - if you say so.

Agree... In terms of the defensive midfielders everyone agrees that we need, most will now be cup tied. Defour I would think has played, Bangra has, Moutinho (not defensive but you know...) has. So I agree with the previous post, if he comes it will be in regards to the league not Europe. Jack did will last eve.... so maybe he is cover for Europe as well.. can't play every game.

With regards to the board. They have little money, we all know that. We have had to wait for the TV cash to fall, and now you will see some movement. To be honest, if we get Taylor (my fav choice of centre back), Bangra and this Bytrov fella, I will be pleased. Anything else is a bonus. Just wanna get top 5/6 again this season, and shove all the Villa/Spurs/City only comments down Skysports' throats.

  9. Agree with all of the above.. Would love Taylor here.. the guy is a cracking centreback... him and Jags would be awesome. Banega would be a v welcome addition as an out and out holding player.

Bentley would be great. Not paying anywhere near the £17m Spurs paid, but he could provide the creativity we miss without Spud, and as someone said earlier, Moyes could sort out the attitude. Yes please!

  10. How do you know...... You keep telling us we have no money but your basing this on what fact.......

As I see it we were willing to spend.... 4-6m on a rightback that was going to sit on the bench........ I can think of other things to spend my money on....

Tha Facts ARE.... HE HAS A BUDGET.... WHATEVER IT MAY BE.......

You carnt just start paying over the odds....do you not get it.....

ie if you have 2 players lined up...... both valued at 5m and we have 10m budet........you carnt go and offer 6 just because someone else comes along offering silly money........

we fail because other teams have BIGGER budgets... v simple...... Sunderland Villa City Portsmouth all have new mega rich owners

Stop saying we have "NO MONEY" we do..... we just carnt compete with the mega rich out there

I agree DM.... people keep saying we have no budget, but I have not heard or seen anything to say that. We put in a bid for Naughton which was very good for a young, untried championship full back. Spurs came along and offered another Mill and better personal terms, cos they seem to have a bottomless pit and don't mind giving silly wages.

I think DM is right to stick to his valuation, whether that is buying or selling. Senderos will be cover for Jags, and will be benchbound for large parts of the season when Jags and Yobo are fit... do you want to spend £6m on him? I don't... would rather do the £8m on Taylor who could push both of the others regularly....

The lack of "ins" is very frustrating and I want to see some quality added... but if the quality doesn't come cos we have bought average players at overrated prices... that would piss me off more!

  11.

Have to say I would love this guy here. I was wondering why we wouldn't be interested, as he is versatile, works his nuts off and scores goals... and lets be honest, £6-8m for him is nothing. I know we are looking at defensive players alot, but with Yak coming back to fitness, Vauhgny never fully fit and Chebe's still not back, this guy could operate in about 4 different positions for us.

    GO GET HIM!

  12. What is your evidence that Lescott is only worth £10m-12m?

Last I saw Man City bid £18m so Lescott's worth is £18m - an asset is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.

I agree... whats the evidence of that comment? You have to look at what the player offers.. not just what you or some bloke down the pub thinks he is worth.

You offered £28m for Terry - 29, bad back, one position, 2 goals a season. But very important to Chelsea for his leadership.

If you examine Lescott, to us he is 27, plays two positions at international level, scores on average 8 goals a season for us, and so in short is like 2 defenders and a good midfielder in goal return. To a side like us that is priceless. If you want to buy him, you have to satisfy us that we can replace what we lose... which would effectively be 2 defenders... and someone who can get 8 goals. So I think he is def worth 22m if Hangeland is gonna cost 10 - 12 and that Naughton chap, untried in the prem was 6m...

  13. And a very fine analogy it is Hafnia. Sums it up beautifully!

Very very nice Hafnia.... wonderfully put sir!

Not much more to add to what people have said. We work with little cash, my brother is a Liverpool fan and he keeps going on about Yak and Felli.. but forgets that they were one off's the rest were freebies in those windows.... and then another poxy foreigner comes over... bit of excitement, messes up the window for everyone and has all the poor man city fans believing they deserve it.

You don't. You spent alot last year, were rubbish.. and I truly hope the same happens this year. I hope Bellamy kicks up a stink for not playing, and the ego's all bugger off on holiday mid season cos it's cold and they want to be in, quite frankly, ridculous swim wear.

You deserve nothing, as you have earned nothing. You play fantasy football, while clubs like us work hard, train hard, develop spirt and achieve through that....

  14. Ive read that too... I cart remeber where.. I think it was an Arse forum..... Id hate to see it happen but if it did..............:lol:  :lol:

Id love to see Hughes face.........

ha ha ha DM..... I couldn't agree more... I wouldn't mind Senderos and som cash... maybe look to spend some of it on a left and right back?! Miguel seems to be talked alot.... maybe that Armand Traore chap... looks quite sharp?

I would so prefer this that City... I hate City more now than I do Chelsea and that says something.... the only plus point to whole City thing is waiting to see what Shit Bellamy is gonna kick up when he isn't playing... Ohhh I would love to be a fly on the wall!!! :-)

  15. http://www.bluekipper.com/fishy/in_summer_09/summer_09_2.htm#46

Not like Blue Kipper to let loose on bad rumours. Depends on what the deal entails, we better get him plus £15m for Joleon at least.

Hmmmmm not sure about this. Roger is a top player and I would hate to see him go... but like someone mentioned before in another thread, he has had serious knee problems.. have we just been lucky?

Richard is a good player. Strong quick and covers one of the areas we are light at the moment (RB). He has stacks of potential and wasn't so long he was being touted as a £20m player. I know he is known as a bit og a big time charlie, but then again most young players are... I am sure Moyes can get the best out of him. Just look what he did with Jo!

It would have to be him and a stack of cash as Hafnia said.... but might not be that bad.

  16. No way...was horrified when we were linked with him originally, glad Villa bought him.

Agree with Everton_Worshiper ..... didn;t want him the first time and he has shown nothing to say he would make a big impact here. Had lots of potential, but my West Ham mates say he was always a bit "big" on himself. Got his move to villa, spent most of the season on the bench. Bit like Sidwell.

    No thanks

  17. Agreed hafnia, I think he's much more versatile than just a striker. I think he can play any attacking position, and like Pienaar he works so hard that if we were to play him on the wing he'd give great cover to the RB. I don't think he'll go for 5M though, I'd guess 8-10 but we'll see.

Would love this guy to come Goodison. Great work ethic (love slipping words in that no one ever normally uses) , can play just about anywhere, scores goals, sets them up and loves to loved by the fans. Players like that work their arses off!!

if we can get him for under 8m... snap your hand off. Already up to speed in the prem, no real settling in time, and can cover just about any of the attacking positions.

  18. Does anyone think City might have shot themselves in the foot with their £30m bid for Terry?!?! Right oh... so you got £30m for a decent english centre back.... so Lescott is a centreback.... decent.... ohhhh and english... well if you got £30m, and lets be honest he is more versatile than Terry... that has now become the price! :D

Not saying he is as good or not as Terry... but you get my drift....... ohhh the price is now £20m plus Jo! :D

  19. Manchester can deny a 25 million bid, because they have enough money, And with the prospect of winning one or prices again next year It would take alot of convincing to from Barca to get Vidic.

They are in a much stronger position then us when it comes to transfers.

I think Lescott is staying, If there was going to be a deal, it would have been closed by now imo

Agree Churinga, they are in a stronger position... just mean we should hold out for similar. He is one of our most important players, last year was close to POTY and this year, once he got his head right was outstanding. We should be holding out as much as we can for as big as we can... I was just using Vidic as a comparison.

  20. on sky sports it says he doesnt want to get involved in all the "paper talk" as he calls it linking him with city, and that he wants to relax with his family now in time for pre season, although he didnt state what team he would be with during pre season haha.. City supposedly with a valuation of him, of £15m, it makes me wonder none the less, even though i really like lescott, that kind of money cant be denied in thsi current economic climate!

Sorry, disagree with you... £15m for him is not enough!!!

If Vidic is being discussed as a £25m target to Barca, and after Vidic and Ferdinand, Lescott and Jags were probably the next best partnership, that makes him worth alot more. Besides, to try and get someone as good or better would cost us a fortune as well. He fits into the team, covers two positions and chips in with at least 8 goals a season!

Anything less than £20m is an insult, and if the are planning an £18m raid on Johnson, Lescott is worth at least that... if not more!!!!! Make them pay hard for him if they want to nick our players!!!!
