Roma defender Matteo Ferrari is poised to join Everton on loan, according to the player's agent.

The Italy international, 25, joined Roma last summer from Parma and made 35 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season and will provide defensive cover at Goodison Park.

"Ferrari will play on loan at Everton," his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro. "We are only waiting for (club administrator Rosella) Sensi to ratify this move."

Everton will have the option to buy the player's transfer rights next summer for £3.7m.

Far too many clubs with more money than sense are in for Dirk Kuyt so we will back off. the money the dutch club are asking is daft, and his wages will probably be just as daft.

I believe Baros to be what is known as a one hit wonder (Euro champs).

He wanted to change his current contract terms for the extension, Everton said yes if he saw a specialist, he didn't and subsequently left.

Nothing here disgusted me, or makes me think less of my favourite club or the board. In fact I would go so far as to say the ball was in Stubbs' court and he walked away from Everton.

I think many many clubs in the Prem league would have done the same, Sunderland are desperate for players and a 1yr contract holds little risk so they signed him without that clause.

I think if we have agreed fees they will come, both of them. If we haven't actually agreed anything though....
