  1. i just feel the need to ask a few questions.

    1. what formation did we play when we finished 4th?

    2. what formation did palace use AJ in?

    3. what formation brings the best out of our two top scorers?

    4. how often has 2 upfront worked for us with this team?

    answers on a postcard please?

    1. 451

    2. 451

    3. 451

    4. none maybe?

    StevO is absolutely spot on!

4-5-1 has been our most successul formation by far under Moyes, it's also our most attacking.

We have midfielders capable of scoring (Cahill, Arteta, Osman), and we midfielders capable of grafting (Neville, Fernandes, Carsley).

We have 5 forwards of varying qualities and we're pretty solid at the back these days (mostly).

AJ has to be No1 when he's fit up there on his own. If no AJ, then Vaughany is a very similar type of player. Very fast over the turf and capable of bearing down directly on goal. If no Vaughany, then Victor it is also quite capable to sit up there alone. He offers good link up with the attacking midfielders and can also run at defences direct and put the shits up them.

BT? He can cut the oranges in half for half time with McFudge!

At the end of the day, 4-5-1 is an attacking formation. The midfield is where the game is controlled. If our midfield has the right mixture of grafting ball winners and attacking wanna be strikers then by default we will be strong and launch more attacking play.

DM should build the team / squad around this need and only then will we be able to seriously start to challenge regularly.

  2. i would loved to have seen hibbo bang one in to prove everyone wrong but it he didnt but what would have been the reaction if he would have brought vaughan on and we got beat he would have got slated

Not wanting to piss on anyone's birthday cake here, but Hibbo will never bang one in and he DID bring Vaughan on, and we DID get beat!

  3. "Edit: Sorry steve you and Claire have the same pic and I just assumed which made an "ass" of "u" and "me"

In that case I'll speak for Claire too mate.

She's too lady like to vent like that :)

  4. It's bollocks from BK!

We need to be playing in Europe in order to further our redevelopment.

The more varied experience we get the more we should improve until we hit the CL again and put up a better show than last time.

As already said earlier, the higher we finish in the league, the more we make.

With the upcoming dosh that Sky will be paying out there will be a kitty available for players so we can improve the team and make European progress.

So, shut the fuck up Bill, you nob!

    Put up or shut up!

  5. TWIST!

If we can cash in while he's still got some credibility then we should do so.

The potential is always there with Beatts but how long can we wait while in the meantime Vic has come through and surpassed him and Vaughney's back in the frame with his electric pace.

Let's sell and use the funds towards getting the driving dynamic midfielder we really need!

  6. City's official website has this at the top of the homepage I'm afraid

    Barton going nowhere 16/01/2007 22:00

After an inspirational performance in the 2-1 FA Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday tonight, Joey Barton has again committed his future to Manchester City.

Speaking after the game, the influential midfield stated: "I'm very happy at the Football Club.

"I've got a manager who believes in me and we're making great progress. I've got no intention of leaving."

    Poo !

  7. I think the clueless bastard has made quite a mess of things recently.

I was no more than ten feet away from him at yesterday's game and he just stood there staring.

When he tried shouting to players they just ignored him!

I think they're pissed off with his line ups and his tactics.

When we lost Valente he could've brought Weir on and moved Lescott to left back (a better option than Naesmith IMO).

Arteta should be central with Neville. He's the playmaker and can supply AJ far better from a central position.

Osman can play left and VDM right.

Yobo or Mark Hughes can play right back.

Young Vaughan should have been on for the 2nd half to add his pace and we should have thrown everything at them.

At least had a go at them!

A bag of bollocks is all we got. All Moyes wants to do is play safety first football.

No fuckin ambition to get stuck in and attack teams at home.

Too many times we've seen this so far this season where we don't finish the job off and sit defending a goal lead.

It's shite, and we won't get anywhere unless we play to the players' strengths and not Moyes' negative tactics.

I expect and demand a massive improvement against Reading.

  8. A Moyes fuck up as far as I'm concerned!

Should never have changed a winning side to start off with.

Getting like fuckin' Benitez with his changes!

Changes can be be made into the game if needed. We're not in a position to fuck about with putting BT in the shop window and "easing" Victor into the team. If the lad's good enough, he's old enough! he's proved he can do it at this level and scored twice against the Skunks FFS so he should have been started. If Shandy VDM isn't fit enough we'd soon have seen but he should've stuck with him to start.

Moyes needs to stop fucking about and play to our strengths!

  9. Agreed!

He's had enough opportunities to do something and taken none of them.

He lacks the attitude to play in this team and young Victor makes him look worthless playing in the same positition.

Just look at the difference between the two.

Time to sell I think and we can use what we get for him to strengthen a bit.

Do the decent thing Moysie and flog the waster!

  10. Totally agree that Neville should be our skipper next season.

No one has more experience than him and he constantly tries to drive on the rest of the team.

I speak as someone who sees him every time he plays, home or away, and it's easy to see he is a clear leader.

He doesn't have to be the worlds best player to be the skipper (Davie Weir for example), but he does have the respect of his peers and can be inspirational. So, Pip it should be. No question!
