Heard it on bluekipper forum, just assumed it was bollox. Freak accidents our footballers have, especially Wrighty.

The most beautiful sound of all.... silence.
After a days babysitting it's the best thing to listen to.

I like the Idea of getting Nolan in, dont know if I'm quite ready to give up on Beattie yet but he needs to deliver and fast. I'm not talking about the end of last season either I'm talking Southampton at his best!!
We also need some good wide players and cover for right back!
If Beattie does go Nolan would be way down the list. We'd need another striker before another central midfielder. I prefer Cahill to Nolan anyway. Isn't Nolan rs?
As isaid when the one trick pony came he had ONE good season,23 goals in fact other than that he's done about the 10 goal mark throughout his career,he wasnt/isnt good enough for us.Wow, more than big dunc
-
nugent isnt good enough.
faddy or vic are better. we need someone like robbie keane. a good supporting forward who can beat a player and score a few as well.
now spurs are back were they belong he may be reconsidering his future. i reckon he'd be good upfront with aj.
That's right. He'd be good as a squad player, but we have plenty of young players coming through the ranks so it would probably be a waste going for him.

If we get rid of Beattie, we will need a proven premiership striker to replace him. Nugent isn't setting the championship alight or scoring much so he wouldn't suffice on is own as a replacement. I think we are stuck with Beattie for a while as everybody else is too expensive.
-
Not sure I'd like to risk selling a proven premiership striker in Beattie for a young striker that's barely scoring in the championship. We have Anichebe and Vaughan coming through, and if we were to go for Nugent, it would have to be alongside a senior striker.
Beattie has always been a goal scorer who hs runs then doesn't score for a while, like last season.

We've scored 17 goals this season (inc the league cup) and Johnson has scored 6 of them. Think that's a pretty healthy ratio to him and the team.

Wagga Wagga is in NSW I think.

I heard he led the buy out of Greggs shares.

Try Diddillibah. It took my wife ages to get me to pronounce that properly.

Many thanks for your welcomes
I live in the department of Indre which is about 2 hours south of Paris. Pretty much dead centre of France (and it is pretty dead here, but that's the way I like it, nice and quiet and private).
My favourite film is Amelie or Apocalypse Now.
Favourite player is Cahill.
My favourite move is the one the gets me into bed!

If any of you post in Bluekipper, some of you may know me (blarg). It's been getting a bit "young" over there lately, so I'm looking for a little more "maturity" (but not too much more!) and more thab "What's your favourite movie or Everton player".
One of your members recommended this site from over there.
I'm currently living in France, having moved from Qld, Australia last year. Been a Blue since I was about 14 (about 21 years now), and am finally going to see my first match at Fulham in a few weeks time.
So, a big bonjour to all.

Thinking on, on the Beattie for Nolan rumour, as it seems Cahill has Beatties role now, albiet just behind AJ, perhaps there would be room for Nolan in the midfield? Perhaps Nolan in the centre with Carsley or Neville and Arteta and Ossie or Davies on the wings. Anyone think that might work?
