  1. Who do you think will win each of these competitions?

    Premier League- Man Utd

    Championship-Sunderland

    League One-Scunthorpe

    League Two-Walsall

FA Cup- Man Utd (though i did have a dream that Boro won it- so i reckon either from that draw)

    Champions League- Chelsea

    Eufa- Spuds

    Seria A- Inter

    Ligue Un- Lyon

    La Liga- Barcellona

    Bundesliga- Werder Breman

    SPL- Celtic

Thank you..............a civilised response at last!

    PL Chelski

    FA Scum

    Uefa Bremen

    CL need I say more!

    LL Barca

I think the rest are obvious.

  2. Agree with Licker, a lot of it is to do with the way society has changed not just football.

Are you honestly suggesting that you are more successful now than you were in the late 70's early 80's?? I suggest you go get you history books out or ask somebody who supported the RS before 2004.

Yes I am saying that we are more successful now than we were in the mid eighties.

to give you the benefit of the doubt, since (and including the 85/86 season,

    Liverpool:

    1 CL

    1 Uefa Cup

    3 League titles

    5 FA Cups

    3 League Cups

    2 European Super Cups

    5 Charity Shields

    A total of 19 trophies.

    Everton:

    1 League

    1 FA Cup

    3 Charity Shields

    A total of 5 trophies

That speaks for itself, and goes a long way to explaining the "hatred" which exists.

Looks like a history book would not be a bad idea in your case either.

  3. The reason the "hatred" exists is really simple (why people tiptoe around it and claim to not know why it is is bizarre).

Liverpool are massively more successful than everton and this has caused awful bitterness.

Liverpool have grown and developed into one of the most widely supported clubs in the world, everton have not, this has also caused resentment.

Liverpool are a big club and everton are not anymore...............everybody is now aware of this.

Liverpool look to have a far more promising future.

So there you have it, the reasons for the "hatred" and bitterness are envy and jealousy. Simple as that. Deep down we (reds and blues) all know this is the case.

  4. Wow, how long did it take you to think that one up,

"I know, i'll come on an Everton Forum and call them bitter because im a sad fooker whos never been to a game, that'll wind them all up, then Ill get a nark on when the ignore me because of my attention seeking, glory hunting isnt wanted and my crutch of a football team doesn't fulfil the emptyness of my life, as in reality Im a sad looser who needs the association of a winning team to suppliment my lack of social skills "

    Was it something like that

Not really, I don`t have the kinda bitterness you`re so full of. It was more like "what a bitter, losertype reply?!"

  5. Gerrard's first was as blatent a dive as I've seen but I bet we don't see the same witch hunt for him as Johnson, the press always love an easy target.

Johnson is an easy target because he`s such a blatant diver. He doesn`t even have the ability to make it look good.

  6. Keep reading conflicting reports about all this.

1st Bellamy has battered Riise with a golf club.

But then...Riise is OK and is fit to play tomorrow. (hmmm...)

Then Dudek tried to headbutt a policeman and got arrested, but then it was only security guards and he was let go after saying sorry. (hmmmm)

Two things, firstly if Bellamy DID attack Riise with a golf club, why is Riise still walking and why hasn't Bellamy been sacked?

Secondly, if Dudek tried to butt a bizzie, why wasn't he charged with anything?

Sounds a lot like bullshit to me. Not doubting that there was some trouble but I seriously doubt it was anything like what was reported in the NOTW. Saying that, nothing is ever like it gets reported in the NOTW, if they said it was cold outside I'd change into shorts and t-shirt!

  7. From a Liverpool site:

Tesco have announced that they have withdrawn from their involvement in a proposed new stadium development for Everton in Knowsley after hearing that they were in talks with a rival supermarket chain.

Apparently they became upset when Rafa Benitez confirmed that Everton were a Lidl club

 (only meant for those with a sense of humor)

  9. how do you define a "big club" its a difficult one that, but for any Reds that might read this heres my slant on it.

If you read the history of the Football Association, you will find The EFC is littered with the shaping of football the way it is today, they have been involved in so many firsts..........1st team to wear numbered shirts, Dixie wore the first ever number 9, changed the rules for penalty kicks and corners because EFC players dribbled in and Scored, its completely littered with EFC involved in almost everything that happened. On top of that EFC has spent more seasons in the top league than any other club, have scored more goals and gained more points than most others. 123 years out of 128 in the top league.

I can go on but there's too many instances to write about, suffice to say that Liverpool where spawned by EFC And are only our Bastard sons, in fact that hallowed football ground they play on was our old one. So if anybody should read the history of the FA you will find Liverpool mentioned around about the late 50s early 60s at about Bill Shankly's time.

I'll leave it to the neutrals to decide what determines a "BIG CLUB."

    Cheers.

It would probably be easier to define, if you didn`t keep deleting opinions which are different to yours. How very "thinking" of you.

Everton today, are a small club.

Decent history, but a small club..............prooved by Rooney.

  10. So I have to be guilty about every wrong doing of every Evetonian

    BIG CLUB -SMALL MIND

I've not got a guilty concience

I think its you who dont know your history, or just choose the parts of your history you prefer

As Ian said, you have no room to talk

No room to talk!?.............................of course I have (till I get banned for not being a blue, that is) I hate racism and think that his excuse is poppycock.

  11. Have to disagree, he knew exactly what he was saying and repeated it in three different interviews. I think he was frustrated at Everton's tactics and lashed out, understandable in a way but as a Manager of a 'big' club he should have had more grace. We all have a go at Mourinho for being a sore loser but the Spaniards comments have show himself to be in the same category.

As for hitting a nerve, of course it would, just as it would if SAF or Jose said that Liverpool were a former top club throwing good money after bad in an attemt to regain that long awaited championship (or whatever you would currently regard it as). There's a taste of the truth in there but you wouldn't like to hear it from another manager who should have more respect for their rivals.

Difference is, is that if maureen or Fergie said that, it would be laughted at. Especially seeing as we are still wining major trophies. I really think Rafa didn`t go out to insult Everton, he`s not a native English speaker and that should be taken into account.

  12. Unfortunately it does excuse his word or action, generally, if people are offened, as lescott clearly was then its out of order

But whats the diffference in calling someone a ginger twat, black twat or a scouse twat, its all type of bullying to try and belittle the recipient, and its all wrong, racism is a bit deeper than that for me though

You lot did it to John Barnes and are widely known to have racist supporters, in fact you still do it when you refer to Liverpools International support.

You lot really know your history.............................funny thread.

  13. Agreed, that is what Moyes said and on that basis he said that Everon seemed the club of the people's in the city (I assume rather than the glory hunters from outside the city). Knowing how much that wound the reds up I guess we accepted it as out new 'nickname' and the club took it on board realising what a stroke of marketing genius it was.

the RS player was Souness who said it in an interview in the last 12 months or so.

The Echo did a survey a few years back of fans who actually went to the games and confirmed that there was a larger percentage of blues than reds who lived within the city but I don't think the margin wasn't as big as we'd like to believe.

With regards to the spaniard's comments, I think he is backtracking because he now feels a bit foolish (and for LFC he didn't say "smaller" he said "small" there's a difference). I think we could let it lie but he personally will be reminded every time the RS fail to beat a club outside the top 4 or play a counter attacking game which they were so adept in doing in 'that' season.

Wheher we choose to or so, I don't think we've heard the last of this "small" affair!

We haven`t heard the last of it, as a Liverpool fan, I don`t think he meant it in the way that the media sell it. But, the reaction to it was amusing, why would Everton fans (and manager and board) react like that if it didn`t hit a nerve.
