i watch carnegie premier league football every week and would also have a good knowledge of the eircom league down south, seamus coleman is an outstanding attacking right back, but tbh wouldnt be ready yet, no harm in keeping an eye on him.

my local club glentoran, who i watch every week home and away, drew sk brann in 2006 uefa cup qualifying rounds, and we ran them close, only going down 0-2 on aggregate, bear in mind they a full time team in full flight of their season and we were part-timers just starting pre-season, and throughout my years watching the glens, they were one of the worst european teams i have seen at the oval.

Yes please! Great holding midfield player, similar in many ways including age to Vogel, would not say no to either play, but would rather have Albelda.

Age is my only worry, a few of the posters above have stated the likes of Abou Diaby, Diarra, Song, Appiah, which if I am honest would all be good options.

where does this guy play? football manager has him down as a left back, but any reports i have seen have him down as a right back, would be great if he was a left back.

Cant wait for the game against northern ireland, being played in Coleraine, which is on the north coast of the island, about an hour 20 mins from belfast on train.

I like to go for the unusual ones, everyone gets Arteta and Lescott so I might get someone like Anichebe or Neville. Or my fav. Joey Yobo although I don't like having defenders on the back of my shirt. I feel weird playing and scoring with Yobo on the back!

You are soo right, whatever player I have on my top is the position I play on said day at 5-a-sides, my impression of Arteta aint great though, im more like BT wide on the right ha!

Darren Bent, ok, but Charlton were coming out with ridiculous price tags for him in January (£18m Pardew reckoned) when really he is not worth any more than £8m, do you believe he is any better than AJ? No didnt think so, as i said leave the over-rated and over-priced(which you surely cannot deny) to Spurs/Villa/Newcastle, it is their speciality.

Has been switched to play there this season but basically can play anywhere, great lungs and good workrate, left footed.

You serious? Everytime I have seen Koumas be it with West Brom or Wales against Northern Ireland in Belfast, he has looked very good, even go as far as different class in the game in Belfast.

Depending on price he would be a very good squad player.

Everyone on here is going on about the shite we are being linked with, but so far depending on cost everyone really could be seen as back-up, which is what we lack.

We NEED a squad if we are to compete in the League and Europe.

The only ones we have been linked that I am not getting too excited over are... Parnaby (not good enough) Vranjes & Alfonso Alves (never seen them play)

But realistically I would be delighted if we got Fernandes, Nugent and possibly McSheffrey.

Then use the remaining budget on squad players.

Always thought Jagielka was a CB/DM, is he not? Nevertheless he would be a great signing, would cost a good bit though.

McSheffrey, yes please would be an outstanding signing, would solve our left wing problems and could play up top if needed, would love to get him.
