Both these signings would be brilliant in my eyes. Yakubu is fast, strong and knows where the goal is (Drogba anyone?)! I can't remember ever having 2 strikers who can score 15 + in a season.....

As for Fernandes, the mouthwatering partnership with Arteta is too good to resist! Still only 21 and with a blossoming future ahead of him, he could become a star here!

I hate to speculate, but for all we know Keanes words could have been merely an excuse for him not signing for them?

at the end of the day the baines to man U thing is all based on sheer speculation from pappers who will put anything to fill up the page these days.

This would be my first choice with the team we have now, apart from Pienaar we are waiting on a permit.

I suspect that Yobo will be replaced by Jagielka when Yobo goes off to compete for the African nations, but I fully expect Jags to be knocking on the door all season.

If we get this Vogel character, he may replace Carsley- or atleast offer competition.

Vaugan would be my choice striker, but he is obviously injured- so McFadden, Anichebe and Beattie will be fighting for his place.

I like it, but I hope the chang on the design is blue instead of green, it'd look much nicer then!

Jagielka, Baines and Nugent would all be good signings for us I think- Although we don't want to be paying way too much like other clubs are!

As you mentioned, we also need some half decent wingers! I think we really missed out by letting Tuncay go to middlesbrough, the only problem maybe being wages. We have been linked with Downing today, who I think would be good but 10 million has been mentioned which I thinks a little too much.

I agree, a 10 mil figure does seem very high for us!!! I would say that half that and add BT onto the deal would sound quite fair!

To be honest, I havn't seen much of him. From what I hear is is a good alround midfielder who can score a goal or 2. I think he would be a good signing, maybe he would be replace Osman? Or if he is the all rounder I hear about- a long term replacement for Carsley? Don't know about the latter comparison though......

Don't really know much about this guy, but as I have said a few times we are in desperate need of a winger. I might get shot for saying this- but how about a cheeky bid to get kilbane back?!?!?

lol, we definatly need a winger- and although I am not a massive fan of Richardson he would inject some pace into the left wing and we could get him for fairly cheap. We have a good history of dealing with Man U that should help us if we ever wanted to buy him!

If it was true, it sounds like a good deal to me! I think Ashton would work very well with Johnson and both can definatly score goals- although that rings a bell, didn't we say the same thing about BT and Johnson at the start of this season?!?!

Anyway, I don't know why West Ham want to sell him with Tevez going to.......if I remember right, him being out was one of the scapegoats for them doing so badly last season!

I'm with Adam with this one. Looks to me like Moyes has given up with him or a deal would have probebly already been reached. I remember we were linked with him about a season or 2 agao, and he was about 2 million and we didn't want to pay that. So I doubt we would go all the way up to 8 million or whatever is being quoted. I think we could find better on the market for that price!

As for the Jegielka situation, I read somwhere that we were bidding just below the release clause- cause we know he wants to leave anyway! The deal has said to have been stalled by us trying now to involve neysmith in a swap deal for him.
