  1. To be honest I can't see either of those teams making an offer for him as he has been injured quiet a lot this season (again). By the way, Gerrard and Defour are totally different players.

On a sidenote, Axel Witsel has been brilliant this season. He's been Standard's standout player this season and has got 13 goals and 6 assists in all competitions so far. I think he could be the perfect Tim Cahill replacement.

I know it's got to happen one day...but it still sends a cold shiver down my spine when I see the words "Tim Cahill" and "replacement" in the same sentence!!

  2. Howard says he'd like to retire at Everton if possible.

No arguments from me, he must have at least another six years in him. He's the best keeper we've had since Nigel Martyn.

“I would like to finish my career here,”

“Unfortunately there is always a business side to football - everyone understands that - but as far as I am concerned, if Everton will have me, I am staying put.”

Absolutely agree with you Louis, cannot think of anybody that I would rather have than Mr. Howard, has been known to make the odd hiccup every now and again, but he is coming into goalkeepers prime, and we cannot ask for better!!

  3. The money men at the club need the fans to like the shirts so that we'll buy them unfortunately.

Trust me Romey, I used to work for Nike Europe, and in the 6 years that I did, I came to realise that true fans will buy whatever shirt their club puts out, no matter how crazy/disgusting/weird etc..etc.. as long as the club is doing ok on the pitch and they get exposure in the global media, people will buy them, whether it be a die hard that goes to every game or the foreign fan that just likes the sponsors beer and see's 1 in 10 games on the tv!!

  4. When you think about it, we really don't have much to choose from do we !

Personally, I'd like Kevin Ratcliffe or Dave Watson!! but, because that isn't gonna happen, I think it's gonna be Jo Yo because he is Vice captain, wasn't he Moyes first signing?!? and he has captaincy experience on the international level with Nigeria. Now, saying all that, I actually voted for Tim Cahill, because he is the sequel to the movie 300, He gives everything and takes nothing!!

  5. OK, I've got a question what about Richards & Jo for Lescott?

    Hmmm??

Richards, Jo and about 10-12 million for Lescott. Citeh want to get rid of both Jo and Richards so a straight swap would be bad business for us, I think. A back line of Richards,Yobo, Jags and Baines isn't all that bad though. would need backup, especially for the CB roles. Then spend the money on Moutinho!!! :D

  6. Jury is still out on this one lads, on the one hand I cannot get over the amount of injuries he has had over the years, the lack of goals since going back to England (tho' that could be a product of him playing in a bad team) and the huge wage he demands. But I also see positives, I see him coming on for when the strategy needs to be changed, as many have already said, he does not fit into our regular formation, maybe DM see's him as a player that can come in when the formation needs to be changed to give him more options, ergo, he would not be playing in every game so perhaps wouldn't get injured as much :questionmark: , he wouldn't really cost us anything if we could get him to take a massive paycut, which he has stated that he is willing to do. Hugely experienced for those European nights that we are going to be having from now on. He would be moving closer to his home, to his business(es) and playing for his boyhood heroes aswell as following in his dads footsteps. What is that saying?, 'A happy player is a productive player'.

  7. I can only see benefits from Darren Bent coming to Everton.

    1) Maybe Spurs will sell him on the cheap, cause they made a fortune off of the Robbie Keane transfer, Dumb Red shite!

    2) Darren is a bit like Marcus, bags of pace but Darren knows where the goal is. David Moyes can transform "average" players into World/Upper premier class players

    3) I can wear my Everton shirt that says 'Bent' across the back again Haha!

  8. yer i agree its a good result, but the way you wer celebrating was like you had jus won the league! if that was at Goodison and we got a last minute goal you wouldnt see us acting as if we had won, its simply a draw so i dnt see what ther is to get excited about, and i dont agree with 3rd place at all! were going to win it or finish 2nd at least, but not 3rd.

Of course we celebrate, after all it's a point away from home. As regards to your comment on how the fans react at full time, that's because you lot think you are far superior to us, yesterday you weren't. We Evertonians are celebrating an away point, celebrating the fact it was so late in the game that you lot thought you had already won, celebrating come May that when you don't win the league we actually might have had something to do with that, BUT above all, we drew with you in a 90+ minute game with all your expensive "world class" players........when we only have our third ranked forward available, our only midfielder with any physical presence suspended and a defence that all speak english as their first language, AND on top of that Phil Neville was in the team! Our whole team probably cost less than your front line, and we still didn't lose, and that my friend is what pisses you lot off the most, which in turn, gives us 'bluenoses' the greatest pleasure. :D

  9. HAPPY? Yes Happy, why? I hear you ask, because David Moyes has, and still is building a young and very talented squad! There have been VERY talented players over the last few months that have believed in him and the club enough to sign new LONG term contracts, I believe that he himself will sign a new contract, especially after hearing him say that he believes it will take another five years to challenge the 'top' four. When I say the top four, I mean Arsenal, Man.Utd., Chelsea and Barnsley...obviously. I think he is a strong enough character to want to take us to that point, as opposed to leaving for a "bigger" club. I say that, but maybe we might lose him to Celtic one day, but that won't be for a while.

Does anybody else think that Leon Osman has any chance of playing for his country one day??

  10. They are trying every underhand tactic plus this stupid figure of 51% majority will win the vote!

I tell you now KW is on a massive bonus over the new stad and the major share holders wont be arround to see it cos as soon as the share prices go up they'll be off.

    GoldfishMemory....always the Optimist, right??

  11. Aye, what we really need is a striker to replace beattie and some world class Central midfielder worth 11m (not naming any names), because to be honest i dont fancy having a central midfield partnership of carsley and neville. No disrespect to the players but i would prefer a more creative approach :)

Phil Neville and Lee Carsley ARE our defensive midfielders, it's then upto Mikel Arteta, Leon Osman, Tim Cahill, Andy V.D. Meyde, Steven Pienaar and Manuel (if we get him) to surround those players and be the creative ones.

I agree that we need to buy another striker though, maybe not urgently, but we do. We still have pace in A.J. and we have the strentgh to hold the ball up in Victor, don't you agree???
