Just out of interest if Everton were to have a pre-season tour in Oz, would it be popular?

Everton seem to be a lot more popular in Australia than they are outside of Liverpool in the UK so a trip would go down well.

Like he isn't secure already? There would be all-out war if he left, the fans adore him AND the team adores him, a rare combination.

since when do owners make money from clubs? did hicks and gillet think that they can make money off the RS? look at them! they are over 700m in debt!

You clearly have no idea how debt management works. The new owners of Liverpool and Man U etc effectively become the clubs nbanker/mortgagor the debts are paper debts and are repaid using future and current assets (oh look a big shiny stadium funded by the government and owned by the private company, now there's a shock). You are deluded if you think they don't make money out of it.

I think it does the opposite. It may secure our short and medium term golas of competing every year and getting into europe etc. but 10 or 20 years down the line when all these foreigners have made their money and left, then what?

There are always loan and investments in property deals and this one could be very lucrative especially considering the planning permissions and free land coming from the council.

The money will be there it's just whether it will be spent wisely or not.
