All the fantasy football permuations are great fun. The fact is it gives us tactical options with a very good players. I just have 1 question What are the chances of us signing him?

Chances of us signing him? No chance in my eyes, he's already stated he didnt like England, he'll stay in Spain or move to Portugal IMO.

Just read that link, is anyone else concerned that on that very page it say "Steven Defour:- I'd love to play for Aston Villa?? Hope its not another *coughs* M'bia saga.

Really happy with this, but just a side note an I know its very early days yet, but has there been any indication of what the fee could be if we took up the buy option? I would hope that this has all been agreed beforehand, if he has a stormer of a season for us an knocks in 20 goals, Citeh will throw his value up no end!

As it says earlier in the post, its rumours and alleged "in the know" people, however it would make sense has to why Everton havent been bought. There could however be other factors that have contributed to this also. As Trev has mentioned, I also think we will be bought out if DK comes to frution, the club would look "more attractive" to a potential investor.

Don't buy that (no pun intended) one bit.

Everyone is quick enough to blame BK without considering any other option. Maybe he actually has the best interest of the club at heart, maybe he doesn't want his club to be wrecked by new owners...maybe, just maybe, prospective new owners don't like the fact they inherit around £100-300m of potentials costs for a new stadium.

I can see your point but have to disagree about the level of debt! I thought DK was "only" costing Everton £70-80 Million?

Lots of rumours have flown round especially on kipper about what has/hasnt taken place at meetings with potential buyers or investors.

IMO I think Bill knows he cant fund the club to take us to the next level but he would like to stay at the club in some capacity, which I think can only be a recipe for disaster. IF and thats a big if, If the reported asking price is £280 million to purchase the club, you can see why Everton havent been taken over, Everton are being priced out of the takeover game.

Before i joined this forum, i thought it was just unlucky we havn't found any investors, but now i'm starting to wonder if Bill is just tagging us along an doesn't really want to sell.

Maybe he wants either someone to give us shed laods of money or someone to buy us but keep him in charge as chairman. Or maybe he just don't want to let go

 

When the likes of Portsmouth an Southampton get taken over, you start to wonder whats up with Everton.

5th best team in England the last 2 years, Fa Cup finalist, Are well know all over the world. Have a very good squad, top manager, has the potentional to be Champions with a decent amount of investment. Has a very large supported and Loyal fan base. Not in masses of debt unlike the rest of the league(bar city an chelsea) I just don't get it.

Think he would do well for us, much better than ozzie, but the agent garb of 50/50 as to where he`ll be playin next season indicates its another highest bidder deal! Maybe looking too much into it but his agent says it`ll be sorted by wed or thursday of this week but dont we go up to scotland today until fridays friendly??

Would love it to be us, but with the talk of Jo at finch today, Really cant see us throwing 8-10 mill at another striker to compete with Yak & Jo in our prefered 4-5-1 system.
