Hmm, he's a decent player but i think Everton only should consider the top-notch players from the Dutch League. There are better players for a better price. Oh and top-notch player doesnt mean he has to cost much

my apartment was in Bussum, but spent most of my free time drinkin in Dam square at fellows (the irish pub) or in Hilversum. my sister used to work in the irish place (the one that was dating the dutch guy!) so i always got a discount on the guinnesss. was still 8E a pint though!

But i'll think its a good defender for Everton though. He's not a beast like Jagielka or Heitinga but more a Frank de Boer type of player. Has a great pass in him, he's good with his head and he can play midfielder as well if needed.

I just read on a dutch football website that Everton is after Vertonghen, a Belgian defender of Ajax.

I've seen him play a couple of times when he was with NEC Nijmegen.

He made a good impression, but not top quality.

In Euro's, he must cost around the 14 Million Euro. So that's around the 12 Milion Pounds. It would be a great deal, he's also a squad player for the Swedisch team.

Velthuizen: Talented keeper. He's a showkeeper (don't know if this is a English expression), you can compare him a bit with Peter Schmeighel..

Marcus Berg: imo the best striker in the dutch league atm. He scores a lot, scores beautiful goals and under Fc Groningen's this year's manager, he learned to work hard as well.

Only thing is that he sometimes is a bit of a nasty player. Arrogance, hard fouls (little work with the elbow), and sometimes a dive.

You can see him as a mix between Zlatan and Huntelaar, at his own level ofcourse.

If it is: Everton, don't do it.

He is simply not good enough for us, he's a decent player in the Dutch Eredivisie.

I believe that Everton should only buy players who are great in any league, not decent.

I say we should take a look at Onyewu from Standard liege.

He's cheap, he's a American international, and the biggest plus is that he is a beast when it comes to defending.

He's medium fast but tall, has an enormous power, and he's a player strikers are afraid for (in Belgium)

Weird though, that people in England think of him as a terrible coach, In Holland we think he's one of the best managers in the league.

Maybe Tim Krul as a back up for Howard?

In Holland they excpect that Krul will be the next Van der Sar, the next GK in the dutch national.

I've also heard that Feyenoord is after Krul, so if we want him, we have to be fast.

Ajax, Everton and Barca are in my opinion the 3 best teams in making young players worldclass, i prefer youth above foreign players who cost a fortune.

Why? Great stadium, one of the best managers in Europe, great history, and nowadays a good team with a lot of talent.
