  1. I saw Ross today after the Juventus Match come on turn himself into some space and almost fire home the game winner about with about 89.35 seconds on the clock and took his penalty with ease as well. Very Impressed but it will be interesting to see how Roberto plans to utilize him in the formation they played last night

Afterwards they showed Pirlo come up to Ross and take off his shirt asking to swap and they did and it showed Pirlo walking into the baseball dugout with it over his shoulder. I wonder if Ross has approached Pirlo before the spot kicks about swapping after the game or if it was because Pirlo knows how big a talent Ross can be and wanted it as a keepsake because it will probably be the only time he plays against him in his career.

  2. Mirallas scored for Belgium agaist Serbia - the 3rd goal in a 3-0 win - he came on as a replacement and 2 minutes later scored - but i think he was in a off-side position when the ball was passed to him.

It looks offside as he is beyond the last man who played him the pass but I think he looks very much in line wih the ball, which keeps him onside, lighting counter attack great finish from Mirallas, hopefully he will be back on the scoresheet against QPR

  3.

Which Everton App? there's a few on Android Market.

Everton Web videos are working fine for me via the browser... so let me know the precise app you're using and I'll take a look.

If the app is Everton (from BrightAI) then you can view the videos like this:

    1) Install the Everton app

    2) Install MX Video Player from the Market (free)

    3) Run the Everton app and choose a video

    4) When asked which app to play the video with, choose MX Video Player. Job done (you can also choose to make it the default app if you so wish)

MX video player did the trick...Thanks Bluesky!

  4. As an American i want Tim Ream nowhere near Everton. He just finished up a bad year with New York Red Bulls, and has looked terrible every time Ive seen him play for the national team. He got yanked from the starting 11 after two games and a conceded penalty in last summer's Gold Cup, and hasn't looked better since.

True Story...I was watching the US play Ecuador in one of the latest rounds of friendlies and thought we were handling the game pretty well and putting in a good performance. Ream comes on about halfway through the second half and i tell the guys im watching with "We are gonna lose this game 1-0 and Tim Ream is going to fuck up for the goal" I should have kept my mouth shut because this happened soon after

  5. Does anyone know how to get videos to play through the Everton app on their phone? I have a Droid 2 and it gives me an error that says file cannot be played or displayed.

I tried to find out if there was a silverlight download i needed but couldent find one...thanks

  6. I think Drenthe could be ace on the left side with baines...straight replacement for pienaar only on loan and hopefully will play well here and sign up for free

Plus i can see this guy pitching in some end product by either getting wide and allowing baines to raid the box or vice versa.

I think Moyes may have been planning these moves for awhile and im expecting to see an excellent performance after the break once everything is settled and sorted

  7. Went to the game last night and had a great time...even tho Everton looked pretty shit honestly. lots of passing it back and forth along the back line but never advanced the ball very far up the pitch

the Union looked the better team the whole game, and found ways to advance the ball into the final third much easier

I think we missed the creativity and running that we would get from Osman (still getting used to him being one of our best players, who was at the practice i saw Tuesday morning but not at the open practice the same afternoon. moyes said it was a groin strain when i asked him.

Vellios looked very class and composed around the ball, and i can distinctly remember him tracking back into midfield and winning the ball at one point

Overall the team looked tired, probably attributed to two-a-days in this heat we have been having

Still great to see them for the first time tho...and excited to see them play again Saturday we are driving down to DC for the game.

    Also,

Asked Rodwell after the open practice and he confirmed he is changing his number to 4

Asked Coleman if he is moving to the back and he says he doesn't know its up to the gafffer

Asked Barkley how his leg was feeling and he said alot better

  8. Going to this game today will let you guys know how it was

Went to the open training yesterday and got a few autographs

Vellios scored twice in the scrimmage game the only two goals

Real excited for tonight my first blues game...not as good as getting to see Goodison but ill take it!

Everton to play Philadelphia Union July 20 at PPL Park

This is the news I've been hoping for! My first ever Everton game and for it to be against the Union where I have season tickets will be awesome! So pumped right now.

Our boys in blue better watch out the Union took down Celtic 1-0 at PPL last summer and played well against United 0-1 in similar friendlies

  10. Last semester when I slept with my girlfriend every night she would always tell me about how i would be playing for Everton in my sleep.

One night after a few too many cheap beers she told me i was saying something about Donovan.

Hope I dream up a win this weekend

  11. Neville Heitinga Distin Baines

    Coleman Osman Arteta Gueye

    Cahill

    Yakubu

Gueye lights it up on the left, Yakubu gets his goal, Torres limps off, Osman makes Gerrard look like a muppet in the middle, Jonny crushes someone and sends them all limping back across the park.

  12. If you want a singing area and to bring back the old atmosphere...BRING BACK TERRACES!

This is one of my favorites videos and it shows the atmosphere at Goodison in the good old days.

"Everton lost their opening two fixtures of the 1984-85 season to dampen some of the enthusiasm generated by the storming finish to the last campaign"

Not too worried about the loss to Blackburn yet!

  13. I think the real question being asked in this thread is...Why not bring back terracing to English football?

I understand what happened at Hillsborough but it was stated in Taylor's report that poor police and management were to blame, not the terraces themselves.

I was watching a video the other day about Everton in the 80's and was amazed by the atmosphere at Goodison in the old terraces, basically this is the type of atmosphere that you want restored, so why not restore the terraces?

And before people start to object I suggest they look at the German model of terracing, safe standing areas that provide excellent atmosphere and can be easily converted to seating (at a loss of occupancy) for European matches.
