  1. Racism has no place anywhere. We all bleed the same, breath the same and die the same. I remember watching a Rugby League match on the TV and one of our (Australian) national players is a Fijian by birth and was playing for his club at an away ground when someone on the sidelines called him a monkey while he was being substituted. The player (Petero Civonceva, trying pronouncing that) ran up to the spectator and almost throttled him (the player is a prop as well, so the spectator would have been shit scared). The player restrained himself and the spectator learned that Petero was definitely not a monkey. The spectator has been banned for life and the player is even more respected than before.

Racism needs to stop, the spectators are there to enjoy a game, not find people to mock. If anything mock the team, or the players ability, not for something that they were born with. That racist person is just lucky he has parents that are white or else he would be the one being mocked.

  2. I'm actually pretty excited about this signing, although I fear it may become a similar situation to Fernandes where the player uses the loan as a window and leaves for another club after the loan expires despite Everton interest.

I agree, but if he and Straq can help us into the top half of the table and may be even get close enough to the Champions League than he may consider moving, especially with a more involved role as compared to a club where they are only likely to use him as a substitute for Carling Cup games.

  3. Westwood at Coventry would be ideal. Young and Republic of Ire international on a free as for a left back i think Neville is adequate until Garbutt is ready

Garbutt won't ever be upto Baines' standard. I would like us to go for Dodo from Corinthians. Man Utd still have the option to buy him until he's 21 in 2013 but he's a great Left Defender and he can play Wing Back, similar to Baines. He's a cheap buy as he is coming close to the end of his contract. Or may be Matteo Rubin, from Torino F.C., not sure how much he is worth, but he likes going forward - a bit like Coleman on the left, doesn't have the cross of Baines, but still young.

  4. Well how can we help the team, financially? May be if every supporter at the gates of goodison donated a pound towards DM's transfer ability and may be Everton supporters who are business owners can put out a tin for people to put some money in. I know it would be unpopular, but we are the people's club and I would be personally willing to donate.

  5. That's quite a prize :o .

I'd have a bid.....but then I'd have to fly to Oz to get the flights back so a bit pointless really  .

Saw some more of the flooding on the news this morning, looks dreadful, anyone here involved/near it (Pat was/is Queensland I think).

Yeah, I'm from Ipswich, one of the towns hit. We were pretty lucky where we are, but we have been cleaning up Goodna, a suburb of Ipswich which got smashed. My mate lives there, bought the house a couple of months ago, the river had to rise by like 11 metres for the water to even get in his house, 2 storeys under, the Rugby League posts which are across the road from him were under water. We went to his house in a tinny (boat) to start the clean up. It's terrible out there.

  6. Everton were his employers and they couldn't offer him a pay packet to meet the market, simple.

Yes he should be thankful to Everton for rekindling his career, we should also be thankful for the service he provided.. it's not like he handed in a request.. and what's he going to do for the remaining 30yrs of his working age once he retires?

I've got no bad feelings towards him, it simply reiterates that we've not a pot to piss in..

Ummm... not work!! The money he has gotten from his football career is enough to set him up for life, especially if he returns to his home country of South Africa! This is why Everton is the working man's club. Money isn't our focus, team and club is. Man City have already seen a move away from the normal people who are their supporters, Everton do need some money to work with, but I hope we never turn into Chelski, Man City or Utd, or Arsenal for that matter. I hope we get the funds to buy great players, but only players who will make the club more important than themselves.

  7. Also, isn't it funny that our strikers are starting to perform (yes the 442 is helping), but they are starting to perform during the transfer window, may be Moyes' hints of picking up more strikers finally kicked them into gear.

  8. I think we need to play Osman, even though I don't think he is in our top 11 at the moment he has the heart to take on Liverpool, as does Cahill (damn Asian Cup, tell an Australian he's Asian and he will punch you right in the cloaca). We need to play with more heart than LFC. Get the ball to Coleman, he will run straight at them, I love that kid, he would run at a brick wall if it was on the pitch.

  9. I dont think we need to drop Cahill on 442. He would work hes ass off anyway as an "only" attacking central midfielder.

    Saha-Yakubu

    Cahill

    Pienaar-Coleman

    Fellaini

    Baines-Distin-Jagielka-Neville

    Howard

I like this set up, I would just change Jags for Heitinga, Jags has still scored more goals than Saha (unfortunately for the other teams). Also I like the idea of Cahill playing his natural position - Attacking Mid. I would have Fellaini at CDM, but interchange with Rodwell.

  10. The good news is that we will get a trophy next year, even if it is the Championship title.

Anyways, EvertonDirect's delivery (Royal Mail) isn't any better than our teams performance. It shipped on the 15th of last month, and still hasn't arrived.

Yeah I'm still waiting on a book that was shipped on the 7th December. Got told 3-7 days and they won't look into it until 4 weeks has passed.
