Hope he is back for the WBA game. I do like Stones in defense but we are missing Distin and Jags partnership.

We do need to move on from this ageing partnership soon. They cant keep performing at this level especially at his age. He does continues to prove me wrong which is great but I think we need to get his replacement ready. Stones has a great player to learn from here and I hope he makes the most of Distins experience.

Man City, champions league....since when...They didn't even get into europe through the fair play league this year....challenging for the league.....no chance 10 strikers but only 1 defender (toure)....they'll ship goals in at the back and bellamy will rock the boat when he aint playing...they'll be too inconsistent this year.

 

We are the only side to break the top 4 in how long now with pretty much the players we already have? so surely on recent form, we have the better chance of champs league and winning the prem....just becaus the papers have started getting aroused by Man Citys money, doesn't mean they will be a force - not at least while Hughes is in charge.

I think the point he is trying to make is that in the next few seasons Man City will be in the CL and challenging for the EPL.I agree that this season they wont have a chance of the League but if they continue with spending their billions they will surely be challenging in the not too distant future.

Sadly this will not be the case for us unles we get some serious investment. Team spirit and a great work ethic can not compete to that extent without investment.

Well they look good. Only missing the 'only the best is good enought' from the inside bottom. You never know it may actually be there.

I think we will really get people debating this kit (as we are all doing on this website) and it will generate some genuine interest. I would imagine this was spoken about upon the design of the kit, with such change there is bound to be such debate

what wages do you think he is on. I think this will be a good signing if we were clever and made the deal with a pay as you play type clause. Otherwise massive risk and should be focusing on the midfield.

im not too sure on this one. I think we need another goal scorer up front. When yak was injured or not on form last season our strikers did not bag a goal between them for a few weeks maybe more if i remember correctly.

It would be great to have tim fit as we can play a different system which seems to bring a few goals however we need to plan for his injuries and if he is not on form. Some games we need the two up top and without yak there is not a goal scorer.

I would like to see vaughn with a season under his belt see how he copes with it all.

I used to say when they brought fletcher on that they were settling for the draw even if they were winning I hope this stays as a rumour or I will be laughed at by my man u mate :blush02:

I think they will still do very well i would guess the semis. Agreed they are ageing so thats a disadvantage especially with the number of games the UEFA cups brings to a season.

And he was probably lackin in confidence since he played almost nothing and then he had to sit in jail for a night and stuff like that. Allthough everyone knows he has the quality to be a top-player many valencianistas doubt that he has his head in the right spot to be what he actually could.

I was getting a little desperate last night and wondered if he would be any good in these type of games, it opened up at the end and i reckon he would have ran at them and created some chances, we should get him involved in these games coming up.

I can see where your coming from but he does not look at all sharpe enough to play and make a difference, maybe for half an hour or less. The opposition will only get better in this competition so could he cope, probably yes he has played big games before in europe but would we want him to play with the attitude he seems to have of late

ive got a mate whos a pompy fan he said nugent has looked poor pre season and as we all know hes had a poor start to the season. but hes just starting his career at pompy and the premier league silll to get rid so soon. We will see in the future
