I get the impression that people are trying to take football down the 'Moneyball' route. Man City are releasing a batch of data today to the public and encouraging people to come up with their own equations for how to measure a successful player and build a successful team. I think money ball is a natural way to go for all sports, but like was said in the video the problem is how exactly do you quantify your data into a system that is beneficial. It also made sense that Spurs seem to rival us for many players because we are 2 of the big analytical clubs in the league.
