  1. i'm a novice and still trying to learn the sport and the players but i am not sure if it was a conditioning thing or not but rom doesn't seem to have a good touch out there. he's big and intimidating and looks like he can score but seems like he needs to be set up to take full advantage. he can't seem to control the ball and create on his own.

if that's the case, who is our best creator? was it ross?

  2. baines

    naismith

    pienaar

    in that order.

baines was being very creative and naismith is just a solid player that plays within his abilities. he can't make that spectacular pass but he makes the safe textbook play and doesn't look like you have to question his effort.

i thought pienaar was very active and trying his hardest to create.

mcgeady had that brilliant goal but felt he was hit or miss all day.

  3. i think this should considerably alter our expectations for the season. from the little i know, i think we would be lucky to finish in the the 6-8 area. this not only hurts us this year but takes a year of development away from ross AND could be potentially career altering for him b/c nobody knows how he will bounce back both mentally and physically. from what i know about the team, it doesn't look like we are going to spend alot more money for a loan so imho, we should pay for a cheap loan on a very young player that could potentially develop and we could purchase down the road on the cheap.

  4. i am a new everton fan...and soccer fan in general. i've watched world cup over the years and have watched a few mls games here and there over the past 20 years. (i am 40 years old).

but i am a sports fan so even tho i don't know all the strategies and such...i can tell how a team functions, energy, etc. and it really was clear that rom wasn't ready to be out there and i think he only played b/c of ross' injury. and then our energy was basically zero in the 2nd half. if we played with any of the same effort in the first half, we probably win 3-1 or possibly even 4-1. a bit concerning was all the long passes we couldn't defend. our defenders looked so small. i fear that every single point will count this season so losing out 2 points now will mean we have to get a surprise win on the road somewhere this season to balance it out.

  5. Martinez spoke to the Stamford Bridge club to assure them that the flying Ghanaian winger will play enough in a season-long loan.

And supremo Bill Kenwright will also pick up the tab for the rental fee and wages just days after signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Atsu has been offered to several clubs after Jose Mourinho decided he was better off playing away from 'home.'

The pacey wide man had been with Porto last season but Chelsea want him to play in the Premier League to bring him up to their level.

Atsu had also been chased by Sunderland and Swansea - the main rival contenders - but Everton came up with the right package.

Martinez will give Atsu plenty of game time with Everton chasing the top four and also involved in Europe.
