Shame!
Well if you need it recording, drop me a PM closer to the game and I will see what I can do
-
The mobile phone incident?
But I agree, I dont think the amount of missiles would increase particularly, but the netting is a prevention.
What I was suprised about last season was the amount of racist abuse being shouted at times.
The first game of last season, when Yobo played the ball across the face of goal and Rooney scored, the amount of racist abuse from the top balcony of the main stand was disgusting.
When the matter was highlighted to the stewards it was ignored. I was told, "Right, I'll monitor it". We need to stub out racial abuse immediately in my honest opinion.
To allow drink onto the stands, although I would really enjoy having a bevvy watching the game, would just be a challenge for some idiots, who would be intent on getting blotto which means they loose their inhibitions and control, and MAY become violent, abusive, disorderly, etc, etc, etc.
Plus, although it may not directly effect the crowd during the game, it may well do after the game?
-
Massive wages and massive disappearing-type ego.
Nah, I am happy with our back for the time being!
-
Definately, I would agree that some d1ck will try his best to breach the netting. Darts and the like have been a problem for a long time at football games. I think it happened at Goodison Park a long long time ago. A goalkeeper was hit by a dart. Everton introduced the half circle behind either goal, which has long since gone now.
Netting would only be a prevention and not a cure.
-
Fantastic.
I was not going to be able to travel due to work commitments and had resigned myself to the fact that I was going to miss it.
Mikeo, you must know somebody locally who can get it?
-
Its not a bad logo I guess.
I am tired of the current Germany logo, but then that's probably more to do with England not being the final more than anything else!
Oh well, still watch the final tonight and have a beer or two!
-
Personally, I would love to have the odd beer (although I am not sure whether it would be Chang) whilst sat in my seat watching the game.
The current law's make little sense in my opinion, for example
The current law forbids any spectator from drinking on a train or coach whilst on the way to the ground, yet they can drink as much as they like in the pub before the game...
However, if you try to enter the ground drunk, you can be refused entry and/or arrested!
But, once you are inside, you can drink as much as you can at the snack/drinks bar, but you can not drink in your seat?
I think that the introduction of netting is a very good idea. Not only would it stop the foolish drunks, it would stop the loosers who throw mobile telephones and other objects onto the field.

I have ruptured the ligaments on both sides of my ankle 10 days ago (which explains why I am always on here!!!.
My injury was, and still is agony when I move, but to damage the ligaments in your knee is said to be worse, and much more difficult to operate and get good physiotherapy for.
Not a nice injury, if there is such a thing!
-
good to see closure on the racism issue...
as for the captain debate...I think that Gerrard would make a good captain, but I think that Terry would be better.
Nothing to do with what club they play for, or the fact of Champion League, Premiership, FA Cup or any other trophies or tournament victories, just based on the character and their ability to motivate an England squad in past games.
Although Gerrard was playing out of his usual position, one quality of a good captain is to motivate and drive the squad from the position they are playing - and sadly, I dont think Gerrard would have been able to do that in recent England games.
Only my humble opinion though!
-
Yup. Yup. I would like to wish him the best of luck also.
He brought a lot of support and much needed financial boost to the club from China over the last several years.
I just sincerely hope that he has a better run of fitness and does well for Sheffield.
Best of luck and thanks.
-
Well for mobiles and broadband I received a call today from Orange.
I have been a broadband user since the days of Freeserve, which became Wanadoo, and now, more recently Orange.co.uk.
I can not vouch for this service as I have only heard the very basic details from an operator, and they are sending me more details out, but, they are offering a deal whereby you take out a 12 month contract on a range of mobile telephones (different packages are available) and you get 12 month of free broadband.
The number to call is 07973 100 150.
-
loving that signature GoldfishMemory.
Brilliant!
lol
-
By far the best kebab I have ever eaten was in Agios Nicolaus, Crete, Greece.
Loads of different types of meat, salad, chips, all very healthy (not!) in a flat greek style bread rather than a pitta...
Beautiful! mmmm.....kebab....droool!
-
thanks for the positive comments...
just been reading some of the older threads on this forum and I have to say it is far better than any of the competition.
-
mine is exactly like this one...
and has a chang logo, the same as on the front, between the shoulder blades.
-
what is it with such scum.
they are not happy unless they are damaging, destroying, bullying or threatening.
its a pity that the saying 'live by the sword, die by the sword' does not always come true...
Shame on that creature
-
how long has kitt been right hand drive... not that I am a car anaorak!
lmao
-
Hey all,
Just joined.
I am from Liverpool... I've held a season ticket in the main stand for the last 26 years... I collect Everton shirts and have every season's homeshirt since 1981... I'm very encouraged with the new signings Moyes has made... I can not wait for the Prem season to start... I have no idea why I have not registered earlier!
Thats me signing in.
-
Got myself the new training shirt yesterday...
I like the Chang logo on the back, the collar, and the design...
That said, I will also be buying the new home shirt when I get some more dosh!
-
First off, I am brand new to ToffeeTalk, although I have been a registered member at whenskiesaregrey.com for around the last 4 years, as well as being a season ticket holder in the upper main stand since 1981.
Anyway, I am the manager/organiser for FC:SSL, Football Club Speke South Liverpool. We are an an over sixteen's amateur charity football club based in South Liverpool. We are part of the Leisure Leagues, as well as playing many organised charity fixtures against charity teams, such as All3Media's Hollyoaks and Grange Hill squads.
FC:SSL is an authorised fund raiser for the worthy charity of The Imagine Appeal Fund, Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool. All of the funds raised at every one of our events goes towards their charity!
We are currently in the process of organising a Premiership Raffle 2006-2007 which Everton FC and Liverpool FC will be hopefully involved, as well as holding an organised 8-a-side tournament at Liverpool Hope University in September/October 2006. If anybody has any previous knowledge in the organisation of such events, any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
We are currently looking for forward players for our club, as well as teams to train against, and get involved in the forthcoming tournament, although places for clubs entering the tournament are tight.
FC:SSL is kindly sponsored by Carolyn Hughes Public Relations (Liverpool), who cover all costs of our kits, training kits, equipment, etc...
We receive donations from several other companies and individuals, which depend on the amount of hits we have on our website. Basically put, the more web vistors we have in the next couple of months, the more our club, and player sponsors, donate to the club and to our main charity, Imagine.
Please visit, register, and keep revisiting (and raising money
www.fc-ssl.com
Any feedback, advice, support, recommendations, etc, etc, etc is welcomed...
Many, many thanks,
Andy
Honour Or Disgrace?
in General Everton Discussion
Posted · Edited by www.fc-ssl.com
I'm not sure whether this has been done before as I have only been around on the boards for less that a week. I have search, but was unable to find anything...
Anyway, which players in your opinion, left under a cloud, and which left Goodison Park as hero's.
For example;
LEFT AS A HERO...
DUNCAN FERGUSON (always dedicated and strong. Made a difference to the game/squad)
KEVIN CAMPBELL (praised the club while he was with us, praised us when he left. Complete gentleman in my opinion)
NIGEL MARTIN (not with us for long, but really made a difference)
DAVID UNSWORTH (still and Everton supporter. Returned to us at every opportunity, and when he wasn't with us, he still sat in the Gwladys Street supporting us!)
LEFT IN DISGRACE
WAYNE ROONEY (once a blue, always a Manc? Need not say anymore, still open wounds to me!)
NICK BARMBY (ditched Everton and walked across Stanley Park to Liverpool, afterwhich he was nicknamed Judas for a while)
etc, etc, etc...
You will probably not agree with my choices so post yours!
