  1. I think selling AJ for more than we outlayed is good business, but at this present time, i'm not too pleased. Were far too quick to sell players, and far too slow to bring replacements in. The squad is bare, and no one expected us to be this short at this point, despite the claims of patience. Now i'm a big fan of Moyes, but surely he must see time is running out, and we are in a dangerous position, if he doesnt get a move on. We only have the facts, we've released players, in the process of selling another and brought in the grand total of zero, thats all we can go off. I hope for faces to be brought in this week, or serious questions need to be asked.

  2. also i thought id add

villa - sidwell is a poor player and most people didnt want him at everton. so they are welcome to sign him. barry could be off

spurs - dos santos is vastly over rated. they are also due to lose keane and berba

pompey - swp is pure papertalk at the moment. lost muntari and sol campbell is another year older and another yard slower

man city - only signed one player and didnt sign ronaldinho. they have alot of work to do

hull/sunderland - buying awful players, good luck to them

id rather have no signings than some of the players being picked up by other premiership clubs. fact is that newcastle/villa/blackburn/man city/spurs have not improved dramitically during this pre-season.

My only argument with that Left Peg  , is, O' Squeil rates Sidwell, Spurs rate Dos Santos and they've been active, we on the other hand have not been active with any of OUR targets, its our lack of activity thats frustrating, not who or how rubbish those around have brought in, we need to step up pretty sharpish.

  3. Although i understand people asking for patience etc, the original poster is correct in saying its poor preperation, surely having the players on board now is a major boost. Just look at the pre-season games thus far, the squad is nothing what the 1st team will be come Blackburn, well hopefully not, so we would have benifited by having new faces in by now. I have to admit, normally i'm not one for conspiracies, but i do believe alot hinges on this Kirkby deal, despite Ian Ross and Everton rubbishing rumours. I think we all could do with a morale boost pretty soon.

  4. Unless we can hear the audio for this "interview" I expect the response to have been doctored and/or parts of the responses are missing - e.g. only highlight the comments that make him appear to be clueless.

Why would he tell "toffeeweb.com" all of the plans when they are not even released to the public through official channels.

Having a 2nd club, bigger club, in the city is competition. When the competition is so much more successful then that is a problem for someone buying the club. One of the rules of business is to research your market & competitors.

The statement "please sell, where ever we go it will be for the better" is complete bollocks and needs no further explanation.

Again, calling the chairman a "joke" is typical of the Kenwright bashers, the man can do no good in your eyes. Why don't you all club together and buy him out...

Again an apologist comes up with the same old shite, "why dont you buy the club blah blah blah". Instead of throwing the same old lines, way up his pro's against cons, and dont use Moyesies magic, the 20m net spend since he's been here is truely pathetic, and back him up. Moving the club away from its home city can not be justified, the deal of century is bollocks. Put it this way, the redshite wouldnt put up with this nonsense, actually most clubs wouldnt.

  5. The basic bottom line is we're the second club in Liverpool in one of the worst grounds in the Premiership. It's hard to sell corporate boxes/seats for big money because the ground is well past it's best, no one is going to spend big money to sit in a run down stadium, especially when we have Anfield just down the road which is bigger, better and Liverpool is a much more glamourous global commodity. We need a new stadium. I don't know if I want it at Kirkby but we need a new stadium otherwise no one is going to come in and buy the club from Kenwright for vast sums of money as they will know they need to spend millions on the stadium, plus the fact that we're already millions in debt and operating (on the pitch) to our maximum capacity already. Man City moved and look what happened.

The stadium issue is a biggie, i agree. However, Kirby is short sightedness at its full. The deal of the century, is far from it, considering it will cost us 100m and rising, while Goodisn can be redeveloped for 130m. Another point with regard to buy outs, Liverpool were bought with stadium issues, much more coastly than ours; Portsmouth, are in more need of stadium developments than ourselves, plus Phillip Green and Robert Earl have joined the board for one thing and one thing only, to make a buck from a stadium move. The current custodians are the problem, not Goodison at this time, a man with a little foresight would realise we need the city of Liverpool, more than any piss pot stadium.

  6. What a load of rubbish! What is this based on? I love Everton but better than Real Madrid...come on. :withstupid:

I know, its laughable. How on Earth can they caculate this, Real Madrid have won the Spainish title (2 in a row), and progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League, comapred to our last 16 of the UEFA cup

  7. Two responses both from mods - I rest my case! Why have a category called General Football discussion when generally you ban any abuse from Liverpool supporters and allow many of your own foul mouthed supporters to say what they like! I know you are bitter but isn't that just a little bit pathetic!

There's only you who sounds bitter here, then again your lot have plenty of stereotypes.

  8. Makes himself sound like an idiot here. It all worries me but this quote below is the one that really stands out to me:-

Bill, what about the planning and infrastructure needed to move to Kirkby?

BK Answer, hey dont ask me guys, Im just the chairman and a fan like you, thats not a question for your chairman

Seriously? If you're the chairman then you need to have good knowledge of these things, when you run the club you ultimatley have to stop being "just a fan like you". You need to seperate business and pleasure, which IMO is one reason why BK is going wrong. If he really was a fan we would activlet be looking for a large cash injection into the club and not just saying, "oh but look at the big scary red shadow over the park" Fuck sake BK sort it out, at least give a decent answer to an important question.

"Dont ask me what the hell is going on, i'm only the chairman, the owner, and the head figure of the club"

Its quite clear, this man is clueless, and is being led down a garden path, by those with far much more nouse. He is, as someone else suggested, 'a joke'.

  9. This is the full interview. Now i thought this was a piss take at first, i didnt think the man could come across this thick. This is the man in charge of our future, scary stuff.

Bill wasnt given a hard time on anything.

Basically, and I formed my own opinion on Kenwright last night, based soley upon what he told us last night, is that Kenwright is the ringmaster of the circus.

Every question that was asked of him, and I give you a few samples here...

Why are we not represented with a bigger presence in the City? (I bought up the Liverpool store in L1)

BK Answer, only Newcastle fans spend vast amount of sums on merchandising, and out of town Liverpool supporters, if we had a store in the city we would onbly make a couple of £100s a year through that channel, so I dont thunk its worth it. That said Im only the chairman of the club and a fan like you, I dont know anything about merchandising, but I do love the club.

Bill, are you looking to sell.

BK answer, yes, I want to sell, this week I have had calls from Rome, Norway, Dubai and America, but no one wants to buy Everton because of Liverpool in the same city.

Bill, what can you do to make Everton seem like a viable attractive proposition for any prospective purchaser?

BK answer, I dont know. Can you tell me?

Bill, what about the planning and infrastructure needed to move to Kirkby?

BK Answer, hey dont ask me guys, Im just the chairman and a fan like you, thats not a question for your chairman!!

Will Moyes be signing, whats been the delay.

BK answer, no delay, we have a close relationship he calls me 10-15 times a day, we have just been negotiating thats all.

    Will Arteta be sold?

Bk answer, no, well I dont think so, why would he go? He loves Everton, new 5 year deal, hes an idol, but football is a strange thing, and nothing suprises me..!!!

    I could go on!!

The usual things that get posted on here, about the boys pen, Dave Hickson, Howard etc, all came out last night.

My impression is that he is in serious shit concerning the future of EFC. He did admit it was his heart ruling his head when he bought the clubm which we have to admire him for, and he freely admitted he hasnt the money to take us where we want to go, but I have never in all my life heard any chairman of a multi million pound organisation admit to having no idea about how a company was run, or is ran.

And that for me is frightening!!

Kenwright, a thouroughly nice guy, but to me, in charge of a house made of cards!!!

  10. The clubs with the best revenue through sales etc, are run by succesful, rich businessmen. They are rich, because of there acumen in business, we have a board lacking in all areas of business, hence why we are running at a loss in this day and age.

The Glaziers are a perfect example, United fans seen this as the end of there club, however, this family are leading people in the world trade and business, they are not your average joe's, taking a gamble, they are there to make a success. A stronger United, means a richer Glazier.

Were not being run into debt because of poor sales, were being run into debt, because those in charge, are not graspings the clubs potential, beacuse they dont know how.

  11. I remember the mass hysteria around him leaving for you last summer for £12m, all i can say is, thank god we never paid anything like that sum. He was never worth that amount first time round, although he looked twice the player compared to his last stint. A few fancy touches, followed by numerous lazy passes suggest to me, he has a lot of learning to make the grade. I'm all for having him back, but for less than half the price, or another loan to have a good look again, because i'm not convinced, and i dont think Moyes is either.

  12. We need new investors, and new businessmen at the helm. How on earth, in this era of English football, are we borrowing to fund the transfers of players, our books must be a right mess due to the mis-management by the current custodians. We are know being told, to forget any activity, untill we return from Sion, we have a manager refusing to sign a contract for whatever reason, and a squad barely big enough for a 5 aside game, its truely pathetic.

We will make strides if and when Kenwright sells up, a foreigner cant do any worse. Moving a club out of its home city, crippling the club with debt, and selling its assets, what more can go wrong.

  13. Here's a note for folks who like to bet on (or against) trends.

AC Milan have never won the UEFA Cup. They have never been to the finals of the UEFA Cup. In fact, they have only made it as far as the semifinals of the UEFA Cup twice, and those happened 30 years apart (1972 and 2002).

So if we did play them in the semis like philinlondon suggested, I'd certainly like our odds!

If I'm putting money down on one of our opponents right now, I'm looking at Tottenham. They have enough talent to win it, they've spent money this summer to get better, and their head coach has already won this competition twice.

But how many times have they entered the competition in recent times? 7 European cup wins, a host of world class players, including arguably the best of them all in Kaka, suggests they are favourits, but there's plenty of sides with a chance.
